522 Orange Street is on the block connecting Quapaw Avenue (main avenue of the residential historic district) and Ouachita Avenue (so-called Sidetown), which is two blocks from the south end of popular Central Avenue downtown historic district. Both routes lead you directly to Central Avenue but Ouachita is a few minutes faster and features new shops, bars, and restaurants including Splash Wine Bar, Chrysalis Day Spa, SQZBX Pizza, Starlite Club, and Colorado Grill. And be sure to check out the new Machine Gun Grotto at the Armory -- where you can literally shoot a Thompson Sub Machine Gun. The neighborhood is quirky and fun and a convenient walk to everything downtown. Most guests prefer to just walk around as you are right downtown and everything in the Historic District is within a mile. Lakes are best explored with your car. Oaklawn Race Track and Casino is less than two miles away so it is walkable but most either drive or take a taxi, Uber or Lyft. It is not overly difficult to park in Hot Springs and it is mostly free.
