Our expansive 4.7-acre campground, situated just 20 minutes outside of California City, not only offers a pristine natural escape but also grants you access to thrilling OHV trails and dirt biking routes. Surrounded by majestic mountains, California City offers breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. During the winter months, there is an unobstructed view of snow capped mountains. At an elevation of 2,450 feet you'll find sunshine, cool summer nights and an occasional snowfall. California City offers a variety of recreational and family activities including camping, flying, golfing, fishing, and hiking. These desert areas provide one of the last remaining places in California to enjoy off road riding. POINTS OF INTEREST Desert Tortoise Research Natural Area Located northeast of California City on Randsburg Mojave Road, this wildlife area encompass over 25,000 acres, with an information kiosk and interpretive trail on the southeast side. Spring is the best time to visit. Desert tortoises can live over 100 years. Don't pick them up as it can cause them to empty their bladder of crucial water. Also find roadrunners, chukars, loggerhead shrikes, LeConte's thrashers, desert kit foxes, Mojave ground squirrels, badgers, bobcats, coyotes, and rattlesnakes. Borax Bill Park Borax Bill Park, now a favorite rest stop for OHV riders, is located on what was once a watering hole along the historic Twenty Mule Team trail. The park provides camping, fresh water, restrooms with hot showers, and patio shades. Water and power for campers are available for a fee. Cal City MX Park Ride your dirt bike at Cal City MX Park Inc, located 7 miles from California City Blvd. off Twenty Mule Team Parkway (exit on Chrysler Drive). This family-owned and operated track features two tracks, a concession stand, and a pro-shop. A practice and race facility is staffed with flaggers and EMT at all times. OTHER PLACES TO VISIT On the extension of 83rd Street on the north side of California City Blvd, there is a strip mall with a pizza place, sandwich shop, and a motorcycle repair/parts/gear store.
