A modern, clean and comfortable hotel with a good sized room and bathroom. It had a large car park which was free. The facilities were as listed but I'd expect a quality hotel to have room safes as standard. Unexciting decor. I'm afraid I don't get how this hotel has been marked as 'fabulous' though.

Nice area with beautiful views of the bluffs and of the Mississippi river and so much to offer from stores, such as grocery, and convenience stores, gas stations, fast food and sit down restaurants and every type in between. It is a must do as far as where to travel and where to stop in when passing by or passing through it is definitely a must and so worth going out of your way to swoop in just to experience the City!!

We visited the Shrine and that was well worth seeing.
We visited the Shrine and that was well worth seeing. You could spend at least a half day if not more on the beautiful grounds. Downtown was a mess with construction, so we did not walk through or purchase anything from businesses.

Always love driving to La Crosse.
Always love driving to La Crosse. We're from Neenah and it's about a 3 hour drive. This recent visit, we came to tour the WWII ship, the USS LST-325 . We also saw the American Countess River Boat and the Viking Cruise ship that was docked for the day. The River Walk is one of the gems of the area. Beautiful scenery, many bars/restaurants and so much to see and do. Breathtaking in the Fall!

A great small town to walk around in.
A great small town to walk around in. Lots of places-art galleries, clothing stores, and antique stores to stop and look around in. Plenty of good places to eat and the people were very friendly. Liked that they had a minor league baseball team in town to see a game. They even had an Irish festival the weekend i was there. Lots of nature trails and there was a bluff 400 feet high where you could see the town town and vicinity from below. Above all. it felt very safe.

Many of amenities were poor or not there. No pool/ hot tub or hair dryer. TV only has 2 clear station and all others signal weak or not available. No information folder in room. Should not advertise a pool if it hasn’t worked since November. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would not stay here again ir recommend it!

The world's largest six-pack is faded but still exists a short walk from Gundersen Hotel & Suites. Downtown area appears to be undergoing yet another revitalization. Many pubs to explore in this walkable city.
The receptionist was lovely and explained everything in details to us. She even put us in a room where we can rest and there are no early risers next to us.
The hotel is not new but feels like they try to update it ongoingly, like there were charger docks, some part of the furniture was new and basic equipment was there and working.
Cleanliness was good enough as well.
Breakfast was basic but nice. Pool was working as well, it was nice to have a dip in the warm Whirlpool before we left in the morning.
Everything about it was great. Everything in the room was clean, fresh, and worked well (fridge, TV, air conditioner, toilet/shower, etc.). Staff were friendly. Breakfast in morning exceeded my expectations. Location is nice and quiet. Close to downtown but far enough away from it. 3rd time staying at this location for leisure trips and definitely will not be my last. Can’t say this about many other hotels I’ve stayed at in the past 2-3 years
Very charming small hotel on the riverbank, lovely location, beautiful renovation of old factory building from late 1890's, cool restaurants, super-efficient and darling staff all around. Couldn't have a nicer stay within 10,000 miles, seriously! Treat yourself to a little stop in La Crosse, Wisconsin and stay at the Charmant, you will not regret a detour.

The Charmant Hotel is a jewel! Every staff member we have encountered have been the kindest, helpful and happiest people, obvioulsy very happy to be working here. Our stay was so comfortable and the rooms are lovely. The location is perfect and so easy to get to fabulous eats/dining and shopping.
Honestly there was not a single thing I liked. I saw the condition of the hotel and the employees and ran out as soon as I could. I’m scared to think of what the rooms or beds looked like. Save yourself the time and money and look for a better hotel. I’d rather sleep in my car than there.
1. The breakfast is rich and delicious, and there are many choices. My favorite is the omelet which is the best I've ever had.
2. The hotel is very new and everything is clean.
3. The only hotel I've visited so far that doesn't charge extra for dogs
The staff at the front desk were excellent in helping us with diverse matters. The room, upgraded to a room with a view of the river, was nice. The location was very, very good for exploring La Crosse.
Great central location and free parking. The hotel car park was full when we arrived but there is a large multi storey next door which is free. Was nice to have a hot breakfast included.
Breakfast was mediocre. There was a nearby restaurant--The La Crosse Family Restaurant. The food was very good and inexpensive. The Internet was strong and effective.
