Goreme, Turkey, is a captivating destination that perfectly blends natural wonder with rich cultural heritage. Nestled in the heart of Cappadocia, this enchanting town boasts surreal landscapes dotted with fairy chimneys, ancient cave dwellings, and stunning rock formations. The weather was perfect during our visit, allowing us to fully enjoy the breathtaking hot air balloon rides at dawn, offering an unforgettable aerial view of this otherworldly terrain. The food was delicious, showcasing the rich flavors of Turkish cuisine, and we had a great time savoring local dishes. Beyond its scenic beauty, Goreme's warm and hospitable locals, intriguing historical sites like the Goreme Open-Air Museum, and unique accommodations in cave hotels make it a must-visit for any traveler seeking a truly magical experience.

ballon is a ripe off, especially if what you have booked did not materialised, you will be riped off even further when attempt to get the next day and so on, price becomes rediculous and the mafia gang up to suck your money, can be as much as EUR 500 per person
everything else is okay in terms of other tourist attractions... just mind the day and night contrasting temperature... hot at day and freezing at night

The only thing that wasn't perfect was that the balloons couldn't fly due to weather. I would recommend giving yourself enough time for rescheduling the balloon rides- 1 or 2 extra mornings so that you have a better chance of getting to go up. Unfortunately, the balloons won't fly if there is wind, and no one can control Morther Nature!

People are very nice and friendly but be aware of the kind of hotel you are booking. If you are looking for cave style hotel like Carus then be aware of mold and moist in it some might not have ventilation although the one we went to last year was well ventilated and we were ok. This year we thought we get a different hotel and that was a mistake. It was moist and moldy and no ventilation in the room so we were such the whole time and 4 day after we left.

Beautiful and vibrant city!
Beautiful and vibrant city! We stayed 3 days but I wish we had been there for at least one more day in order to take advantage of all the activities. The city is very walkable and compact but there are hills.
Lodging: There are many cave hotels scattered throughout the hills and are quaint. We stayed at the Elite Cave Suites which was clean and efficient. I looked at a few other hotels and they appeared to offer the same things; rooms built into the mountain, breakfast on a open terrace etc. Some even had pools. All offer to book your tours and had discounts which was helpful.
Eating: There are many, many restaurants to choose from that are within walking distance of the hotels. We ate at 3 of them and all served delicious food and regional specialties. We had a person with a food allergy in our group and each restaurant was helpful in providing information on ingredients in the dishes. The specialty of the region is a dish baked in a clay pot and then cracked open at the table for you to eat. Delicious and filling.
Activities: balloon rides, ATV riding, horseback riding, hiking, tours, Hamam experiences.
This is a great base for doing local tours in Cappadocia to the surrounding archeological and historical sites. We had rented a car and drove to many of the sites ourselves but a guide would have been useful for history and background.
All in all a beautiful place that was clean and welcoming. Highly recommend and would return tomorrow!

We loved the rock formations, cave dwellings, and churches; they're truly fascinating. The area is touristy, so you'll find good amenities, but it also means you'll encounter influencers focused on taking fake photos, which can be entertaining yet irritating. However, if you have a car (which I recommend), you can escape the touristy spots and explore more interesting and secluded sites.
Zara Cave Hotel has an authentic fairy chimney cave room. One of 6 in the city of Göreme. If you are looking for a true cave room, they have them! Breakfast was a delicious buffet. Multiple terraces made for great views of the city and comfy places to hang out. You are right in the middle of town, walking distance to restaurants, open air museum, Pigeon Valley, Love Valley and more. Internet was great, hot water always worked. Tea and coffee available all day. The manager speaks great English, knows tons of history and can help with anything.
Seven Rocks is the perfect place to spend a few days in Goreme. a great central location just off the main street. Super staff, very helpful and polite. an extra bonus in the swimming pool, especially if you are spending more than a couple of days in Cappadocia. The real advantage of this hotel is the abundant space around the pool and outside each room - a covered veranda with lovley Turkish rug cushions to relax on. Great breakfast, typical Turkish breakfast of cold mezes. I could comfortqably spend a week at this hotel.
I spent a day in Cappadocia staying in this amazing hotel. Location is great, views are amazing ! You can see entire city from your room. I occupied fairy room: it’s not large but unique being the top part of the cave. Room is organized in very comfortable way. Hotel’s staff is so welcoming! They organized my transfer from and to the airport, helped with recommendations about cafes and tours/experiences. They made my visit to this special place! Definitely recommend for stay and I will happily stay there next time!
Han was so helpful at Arif Cave hotel! We arrived and were immediately given an overview of all the experiences/tours we could do so we could plan our stay. Staff were incredibly helpful and the facilities were beautiful! To me this truly seemed like one of the best hotels in Cappadocia and was such a great value. We would 100% stay here again if we make it back. The hotel has a great location, staff, facilities, and is a great value as well. I recommend the cave suite with the balcony and skylight if possible!
Ibrahim, Irfan, family and staff made us feel at home in this beautiful town. Their service and hospitality was impeccable - from the breakfast spread prepared by the family, free flow tea/water/pastries, to the helpful staff who helped us with photo taking from their beautiful terrace overseeing the iconic hot air balloon sunrise view. The hotel also helped us with arranging airport transfer, as well as booking of tours and activities. Highly recommend Charming Cave Hotel to anyone visiting Goreme!
The location near the city center, spa bath, cave hotel atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff – I can say it was a perfect stay in Cappadocia for me. Especially the breathtaking view during the morning time with seeing hot air balloon from the bathroom window and terrace was incredible. The cool weather in the morning and at night, along with the sight of the balloons while enjoying a hot coffee, made it a perfect match. Definitely worth the stay!
The owners are very nice and friendly, they keep in touch with be even before I'm in cappadocia. I had to move my bookings date and they did it for me. The common area is very cozy and comfortable to hang around for a bit. The beds are perfect and it's in a cave and very well heated. Bathroom were good and hot water comes within seconds, they also provide towels. Tea and water are available at all time, I couldn't ask for more.
Thank you for everything. It was a magical stay. I regret that the trip ends in Cappadocia with Koza Cave Hotel. The view, breakfast and room are perfect and very atypical. We were upgraded in the most beautiful room. The family and the staff are very kind with a lot of love. They are listening and good advice. It was just amazing. Thank you for making this trip out of the ordinary. We love you all

If this is your first (only?) time in Cappadocia you *have* to stay in the heart of everything: Göreme. And when it comes to having a first-rate spot to take pictures of the balloons each morning, few places could beat Panoramic Cave Hotel. It is only a 3-minutes walk up an admittedly steep hill from the shopping street. The staff is without exception kind and helpful. Breakfast is ample and delicious.
We like everything at Panoramic cave hotel.Room was big and very comfortable. The view from hotel was amazing.Location is near of everything ( restaurants coffees touristic places). The best thing of hotel is the Staff. They are very helpfully for everything and they can help you have a great time in Cappadocia. Highly recommended
Staff was really friendly. They helped to solve all our problems. Really helped about excursions, balloon flights, even then we ask to help with taxi to go to Uchisar Castle they delivered without charge.
If we’ll be back to Goreme definitely we’ll stay at Aydinli Cave hotel.
Amazing hotel in Goreme! The staff were incredibly helpful and lovely. The rooms were spacious and had everything you need. The view was perfection, and to top it all off, the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend the Travellers Cave Hotel to anyone.
Great cave hotel to stay, we like everything. Clean, excellent customer service, very helpful and friendly. In the center of Goreme. Found parking behind the hotel no problem. Breakfast is excellent. View from terrace is beautiful. Highly recommend.
Great cave hotel with spacious rooms, excellent service, and great views of balloons and sunset with perfect location in the heart of the city. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Cappadocia.
Beautiful cave hotel. The owner's were so helpful and kind. We had less time in Cappadocia but they arranged a half day trip for us which was wonderful!
The breakfast was top notch.
