Welcome to Ban Maebo Local Stay @Chiangmai Our story begins with my grandfather, a renowned architect and an expert in cultivating plants, he set out with a vision to build an ideal holiday home for his family. He designed this home by incorporating local architectural heritage, embodying the essence of Northern Thai traditional houses. House Number 1 Ruen Thai (or เรือนไทย, pronounced rɯ̄a̯n tʰāj) is a type of traditional Thai dwelling, synonymous with our past. Traditionally each Ruen Thai was designed with stilts and topped with a steep gabled roof dissipate, highly acclimatize with our hot and humid climate. Expertly crafted by Thai Craftsmen using teak timber, precisely fitted with cuts and grooves without using nails. Our well-preserved Ruen Thai has been recently refurbished, with a spacious bedroom, en suite bathroom, a small kitchenette, a private patio, and a family-friendly communal space ready for your authentic timeless experience. House Number 2 Ruen Cottage is a combined architectural concept blending the charm of Ruen Thai with the coziness of European Cottage, built using a combination of both teak timber and brick construction. Our Cottage provides a large comfortable bedroom with an en suite living area and bathroom, a small kitchenette, and an outdoor sitting area to admire a picturesque view overlooking golden rice paddies under the backdrop of stunning hillside surrounding Doi Suthep, perfect for enjoying an idyllic sunsets.

Throughout the day, You will find yourself amongst locals enjoying their lives while being surrounded by nature. The house is only 20 minutes by car to the city centre and 25 minutes to the airport. For guests who enjoy a little escape from the city centre, and want to experience a peaceful nature-surrounded environment.
