This is hotel with great service, large room, comfortable bad with a good mattress. The room was cleaned every day. The location of hotel is off the road and far of the sea, you can rent a bake at the hotel.
We like everything except for one thing… very thin walls, you can hear everything, ever how the socket in the next room turn on.

Lots to do particularly if you want to scuba or snorkel.
Lots to do particularly if you want to scuba or snorkel. In my opinion it's more an adult destination as lots of bars and people openly smoke cannabis. Lots of mopeds racing around small streets. The food is great and value for money. If you enjoy travelling, take a boat taxi to other beaches or book a tour. There is plenty to do and see.

Travelling to Samui I was really disappointed with the snorkelling, luckily I had spare time at the end of the holiday where I hadn't booked & we took a 3 night trip to Koh Tao. It had the best beaches in Thailand in my opinion. Sairee beach had great restauarants, the Thai people were amazing (although this is the same wherever you go in Thailand). Getting around you really need a moped, which might put some people off.

A few days is nice here as it is a small island.
A few days is nice here as it is a small island. Great for diving and snorkling. However:
- The coral is dead unfortunately, the few turtles are harrassed by tourists and are not treated nicely, Shark bay is owned by a resort and they profit from the tourism to the sharks. I advice to stay away from this part.
- The island is not genuine Thai culture experience anymore but overrun by tourists unfortunately (March 2024). In the town there is not a spot without a scooter and party places. Weed places and stores everywhere and Western food. I would not recommend the town to people looking for culture, for genuine Thai experiences (except some restaurants) or for a quiet holiday if you stay close to town. Go look for accomodations far from the town centre and you will have an amazing time though (Jungle, freedom beach etc.)
- Scooters are for experienced people only, we saw too many crashes/falls and people with severe injuries. It is really not worth it to rent a scooter if you do not know how to drive uphill/mountains and on the left side. If you go for it, wear at least a helmet and your children too. So many people with babies? and little kids? without a helmet, like are you really risking that?
- Most of it you can just walk, walk or take a taxi if you are unknown with scooters

Our villa with own pool was the best.
Our villa with own pool was the best. If you dive and you are in your 20s you enjoy the place a lot. If you are older, it’s quickly seen.
Sairee beach area is not my place . Other parts of the island I did not see; difficult to go around.
I missed vegetables to eat on this island but fresh fruit shakes, I loved. Local food was cheap but delicious especially seafood.

Koh Tao isn't the biggest of islands, you can hire scooters but some of the island is different to access via scooter.
We stayed in Mae Haad and there are plenty of restaurants/bars to choose from some of them being beachfront.

The roads to many places are insanely steep.
The roads to many places are insanely steep. Two people on a rental motorbike could not make it up some hills. We are not heavy people and a couple times one had to get off and walk. Alternatively if you think your going to taxi everywhere bring a large stack of cash. 300-400 THB each way, everywhere you go and that''s an 8 min drive. Islands pretty small. Best to have a rental motorbike for each person but even that was to scary for my partner. Also this island is really all about diving and partying. Excellent if that's you jam.
It's an awesome place. Amazing vibes. Really chill home like set up. It's on the other side of the island... Vs. Sairee beach where most of the stuff is happening. But depending on what you want from the trip, you can weigh the pros and cons. I wanted some peace and calm once I am back in my room, and pahili does that with ease and panache! Natz, who is part of the team there was a super amazing host - she literally was available all day on WhatsApp for immediate solutions to anything we needed. Thanks a lot Natz for everything!
Best Hostel, a bit far from the Main City but you need a scooter anyway so it’s totally fine. Close to really nice beaches, Tanote Beach was my fav.
The staff is fantastic and you can have fun nights playing Deisha-Thai-Pool, getting professional bamboo tattoos and have good&cheap cocktails or some weed (or both :D)!!
The View is epic, you can see the whole Island and shouldn’t miss it. It’s often booked out (book early!) so there are always many people.
Will definitely come back some day!
Awesome property. Room on 2nd floor with balcony overlooking the main pool. Lovely pool, lots of sun loungers. Perfect location, right in the centre of Sairee Beach (best spot in Koh Tao). Restaurant bottom of hill, right on the beach, serving great quality food and reasonable prices. There’s another stunning rooftop restaurant within the resort called Barracuda. More pricy but definitely recommend for a one off romantic sunset dinner. Great service. Buggies to take you to/from your room.
The location is close to the best snorkeling places around Ko Tao. We saw a lof of various fishes, including clowns, and a huge turtle! The view is stunning!. The kitchen is well equipped for self cooking. The property provides free shuttles to the main area with a lot of restaurants, massage salons, etc. The stuff is very friendly and efficient. Our neubours were making noise after 10 pm - they quickly stopped that. All villas have private pools. We loved our pool very much.
The hotel is located on one of the best beach of the Island so at night you have everything you need. Plenty of restaurants, bars, massage centers and you're close to anything.
At the same time the rooms are quiet and the beds are very comfortable so you're gonna sleep like a baby.
You're 20 meters away from supermarkets and pharmacy so the location is absolutely perfect.
I would recomand it to anyone.
And the sunset you can get from the beach are incredible!
A nice little hotel slightly away from the main area, but in a good way. Easy walk to the beach, busy night-life and great resturant. Mini mart on site which was handy, cheapest laundry I've had so far in Thailand and good. Hosts were really friendly and helpful. The room was big, if you need more toilet paper or new towels just ask at the mini mart. I liked that the hotel allowed the use of it's pool to teach local kids to swim.
we had a beach bungalow for our stay in ko tao during Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed it. the property was very close to the beach, staff were very friendly organising taxis, ferry transportation etc. 10-15 mins walking distance to plenty of bars/restaurants and shops was fine for us and we liked being away from the busier parts of the island. amazing spots for the sunset!
Great place however for seniors like ourselves it is certainly noisy at night and we are not the party type. Lol. The beach, the hotel and staff were great but the music goes all night till early hours of the morning and makes it hard to sleep. This is definitely a party place and lots of young people up all night doing just that. Great spit if thats what your looking for.
After reading last reviews on google maps, we did not have great expectations from this hotel. But I think it is a general confusion about the 3 locations of Simple Life. This one where we had the reservation and we stayed (named Simple Life Cliff View) is not bad at all, room was not bad and pool is nice and clean. It has a very good location on Sairee Beach.
Best hotel during our Thailand holiday. Friendly and helpful staff. Large and clean room. Excellent location 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk from the pier. They also refer to a very professional taxi driver Mr Koh who provides fair rates and is very responsive. The cafe offers tasty breakfast options and the best coffee on the island. Staff always has a smile.
Very close to the Sairee Beach walking street and also pier.
Unique place so close at the beach. A tropical paradise. Really nice view from the seafront Villas.
Really nice personel in reception and breakfast restaurant (on the hotel next to the beach club) and also in spa/massage. Cheap and good massage on the hotel is really nice.
We love this place! The views, the Infiniti pool looking out over the beach with great cocktails, the access to great snorkeling, the white sand beach, the restaurant, the friendly staff, and the natural beauty of the hotel set among the granite boulders and lush gardens are all wonderful.
The hotel is near to the main area of the island with restaurants and locals. It is possible to reach Sairee beach in just 5 minutes by walk. The room was clean and with all the basic comforts. The owner speaks very well english and gave us good hints.
This hotel is set on a beautiful section of Sairee beach. Close enough to walk down the beach to restaurants and bars but is so calm and peaceful at night. We had so much fun renting SUP boards and exploring the area.
Location was really good and beach front access to Sairee beach.
The hotel restaurant across the street was really nice and good value.
Free shuttle bus to port on checkout.
Spacious room.
A small and clean boutique hotel in an excellent location near the pier, pampering rooms on the beach and charming staff that helps with everything with a big smile
highly recommended 💙
The hotel is so cute . They have 11 rooms, small but have everything you need . Pool , beach front and a lot of restaurants around. Staff super helpful!
