Sweet Dreams, hotel in San Carlos

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Sweet Dreams is situated in San Carlos, a few steps from El Palmar Beach and 2.4 km from Rio Mar Beach.

Cannot say enough good things about this place! Great location at a great price as it's just a few seconds walk from the beaches. The accommodation was ideal for us and had everything we needed - TV, strong WiFi, fridge, teas, coffees, kettle, towels, hammocks etc as well as really thoughtful, useful things that we didn't expect like an extra outside shower to wash off the sand from the beach before entering our rooms and racks to hang-dry our wet beach clothes each night! The breakfast each morning was delicious, and if you want to prepare your own lunches or dinners during the day or night, the kitchen area in the garden has everything you need to cook or BBQ and is available to use as you please. We went to the supermarket on route, so we made our own lunches and dinners for some of the days and then went out for dinner on the last night. Sweet Dreams owners are lovely, friendly hosts who are instantly available to help with anything, but also leave you in peace and give you your space so you feel free and relaxed. We spent our days chilling on the beach, swimming in the ocean and exploring the tide pools to see what little marine creatures we could find and if you're a surfer (or a wannabe surfer!), the ocean had some nice waves for beginner level and there were surf classes being taught at the beach while we were there.

Situated in Altos del María, San Carlos. VillaHermosa B&B features accommodation with free WiFi. Some units are air conditioned and include Terrace and/or Balcony, as well as a seating area.

Beautiful garden environment and the interior decor is amazing. Surrounding mountain countryside is idyllic. The host was very informative with excellent communication skills. Service was also excellent. Breakfasts were delicious and quite varied each day. We looked forward to each breakfast and were definitely set up for the day. You do need a car to get around, but the views are stunning. A true 10 out of 10.

The tranquil vibe of the resort was perfect.

The tranquil vibe of the resort was perfect. The garden and the covered terrace provided relaxation in the shade from the sun and the relaxing sound of rain landing on palm fronds during the normal daily tropical rain that’s common during the time of year that we visited. Just a step outside the garden and we were on the beach. The children played in the sand and gathered seashells while my wife and I relaxed in the shade. Our son fell asleep in the hammock between two palm trees. Life is good.

Not fussed about San Carlos, stayed in nicer towns.

Not fussed about San Carlos, stayed in nicer towns. But the people were friendly. Small village, we walked everywhere. Lots of potholes in streets and broken pavements. Just a few minutes walk from the bus stop on the highway to where we were staying: always good! Couldn't find any activities although I understand they do surf there.

The host is really nice but the place is quite dirty and there are too much noise out on the streets and you can hear that through the wall easy. Some rooms are very small and some apartments are bigger, the pictures at booking are marvelous...but!!??. We have been warned about the direct heating function of shower water at the top of the shower Nozzle, this might be very dangerous, again the owner is quite nice, no question this a back packer place with a dusty road outside the door.

Friend m the moment we stepped foot on the property we were in love. The resort is serene and peaceful, the rooms comfortable with great beach views and the hosts, staff and food were amazing. It may not be everyone if you want a standard hotel. If you are looking for a chill vibe and a surf lesson then this is the perfect place to stay. Everyone here are so friendly and helpful to provide information about the area. We only wish we could stay longer.

The host was excellent, very good breakfast with fresh-made coffee and the room was very clean. It is the first time in a hotel/lodge where I've smelled the freshness of the sheets in the bed; it felt like home. It was walking distance to the see, although the nearest beach is full of rocks and not pleasant to swim in. A few hundred meters to the west is a surf beach; the first beach in Panama where I could body surf.

Full kitchen with utensils, cooking ware, comfortable for family of 4, outdoor balcony with dinner table, close walking distance to the beach, 10-20 minutes drive to nearby restaurants, 15-30 minutes drive to waterfalls and hiking destinations Loved sitting on the balcony and just enjoying the jungle sound. Communication with the owners were great.

Fantastic location in the middle of nature. The hotel is located on the crossing between a river, a lake and the ocean. We stayed only one night and had some amazing wildlife encounters: big frogs came out at night, we saw a bright green iguana and a snake. And we had hunmingbirds flying around us in the garden.

We loved the aesthetic feel of the hotel. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the staff were amazing. The game area was so much fun. The cabanas with nice beach beds right by the restaurant were comfortable. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was okay.

Loved how peaceful it was on this resort. I also loved the dogs that greeted us. The jungle walk was awesome as well. We rented the separate kitchen and it was amazing, especially bc the restaurants in town were pricey. Great location two blocks from the beach!
