Please note that a Smart TV, a great variety of DVD movies for adults and children are available. Karamea is the West Coast's Gateway to the Kaurangi National Park, and the start of the Heaphy track, which is one of New Zealand's Great Walks. There are also a number of shorter walkways, including the Nikau Walk, for a taste of the 82 kilometre Heaphy track, without all the effort! Other popular visitor activities include kayaking, white water rafting, helirafting, trout fishing, and exploring the limestone arches and caves of the Oparara Basin.
