Nestled in Naseby, the ‘jewel’ of the dramatic Maniototo, “The Old Doctor’s Residence” will provide you with a peaceful retreat or a base for action-packed adventures. Our historic home started life as a gold miner’s cottage in the 1870s before developing into the home and surgery of the town’s doctors over the years. It has been sensitively restored into a luxury bed and breakfast accommodation furnished with antique colonial furniture and contemporary New Zealand works of art. The whole house is available for you to enjoy with two elegant and tastefully decorated bedroom suites, a reading room with TV and stereo and a very comfortable main lounge with a log fire and TV for your comfort and relaxation. A short stroll will take you to eating places, the historic centre of Naseby village, the village green, the Hogburn and the fascinating cemetery. For the more energetic, there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the surrounding areas.  Upon arrival, you will receive delicious homemade baking with a choice of teas or fresh espresso coffee and you will be served a generous, hearty continental and cooked breakfast in the morning to get you started for your day.
Charlotte and David are unfortunately unable to live permanently at the Old Doctors Residence, however we would love to share our beautiful historic home with you and so we have continued to make our luxury bed and breakfast accommodation available for your enjoyment. You will be warmly greeted by one of our non resident hosts, either Sheryl, Angela or Christine who will welcome you to our home and then return in the morning to cook you a wonderful breakfast. Our hosts have extensive knowledge of the local area and will make you feel very comfortable and welcome in this lovely home.
A short stroll will take you to eating places, the historic centre of Naseby village, the village green, the Hogburn and the fascinating cemetery. For the more energetic, there are plenty of activities to savour in the surrounding areas. Indoor Curling, hiking, forestry walks, fishing, golf, mountain biking, 4WD trips, Dark Skies viewing, Arts Trail, history walks, wildflowers, museums, wineries. Take a break at this highly rated residence when cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail. Or come for a relaxing escape and explore this unique part of  New Zealand.
