We are located between the Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga, in a very special spot (just below St Pauls Rock Scenic Reserve) high above the Whangaroa Harbour with magnificent views. Much more than just a place to stay the night………A private and peaceful retreat in which to unwind and relax away from it all. Our Northland holiday accommodation is purpose-built and comprises two modern self catering studio apartments opening directly out onto a lounging deck, private spa and swimming pool, all with expansive harbour views. We also offer a standard double room, for those budget conscious travelers looking for a peaceful nights rest after exploring the are. King's View Lodge is located in Whangaroa Harbour Northland New Zealand. We are 30km north of Kerikeri and Matauri Bay, between the Bay of Islands (Paihia, Kerikeri, Waitangi) and Doubtless Bay (Mangonui, Coopers Beach, Cable Bay, Karikari Peninsula ) in Northland NZ.

Welcome to King's View Lodge! We are Garry & Lori, passionate about fishing and boating, and can't get enough of the beauty of NZ's Northland. We really enjoy hosting guests and can be an involved as much or as little as you want us to be. We recently purchased the lodge in the summer of 2021 and look forward to putting our own mark of hospitality on to what was formally known as the Waimanu Lodge. We've refreshed the linens and decor, and added some modern touches such as Smart TVs and blue tooth speaker. If the weather is nice, we are probably out fishing or hiking with our small dog, Pipi, who absolutely loves everyone. If you are in need of a papillon cuddle, we can loan her out for a bit, but we eventually want her back. If dogs aren't your thing, let us know and you won't even see her. Our property is set up so that our personal living spaces are completely separated from our guests.

Amazing view from the top of St. Paul's Rock, and the trailhead begins at our doorstep! The fishing is legendary, with snapper, travelli, kingfish, striped marlin and swordfish all targeted right outside the mouth of the harbour.
