BYGONE NOSTALGIA WITH COMFORTABLE MODERN CONVENIENCES Situated 12kms from SH1, on a working farm the Historic Shearers Quarters, are in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. A unique accommodation in the heart of the Rangitikei. Originally used as accommodation for Shearers and their cook whilst the shearing was on. Beautifully restored, experience a slice of New Zealand history by staying with us.
Allan and Alex run the Historic Shearers Quarters, but also run Carteroni the home of the Lancia 037 Recreation. Motorsport and equestrian fill there time along with their two beautiful daughters.. Our business is based on a working farm running sheep and beef.
The Kawhatau Valley is not only incredibly scenic but also diverse with a accumulation of many different business enterprises. A long with sheep and beef farms, the Kawhatau Valley is also home to an asparagus farm, fruit orchard and endurance horse stud. An idyllic fishing river, with many tributaries that are available to fish. We have access to a DOC reserve through private land for hunting use. We are 75mins from Turoa ski field. Plenty of mountain biking options available.
