Brand new luxury apartment with the best view in Gaustablikk. The apartment is located at the top of the area and has a marvelous view. You see both the summit of Gaustatoppen and all the way down to Rjukan, a height difference of over 1600m! Outside the door are the area's best slopes and cross-country trails. You are close to nice touring terrain all year around. The apartment’s large terrace is in a perfect sunny position facing west with sun from 10 am and until it sets. This apartment offers you the best sun exposure in the whole area, all year around. You park in a private garage below the apartment with elevator access to the apartment. Available type 2 charger for electric car. Cleaning on departure day is included for your convenience, the cleaning fee is included in the price.
We are a Swedish family living in Horten, Norway. We love travelling to new countries and places as well as we do love outdoor recreation in various forms. We devote ourselves to skiing, hiking and sailing. Another passion we have is beautiful houses and home decor. We have equipped this family retreat as we want it ourselves, but also as we would like to find it if we would be looking for a place to rent in the Norwegian mountains. We will and have done our outmost to make sure your stay will be memorable.
Throughout the year, there are countless skiing, hiking and biking opportunities and you can fish, row or paddle on Kvitåvatn. We recommend that you download the app "Gausta" where you can find maps, opening hours etc. Gaustatoppen, which many say is Norway's most beautiful mountain, towers over Rjukan with its 1883 m.o.h. The trip up on foot takes approx. 2.5 hours (or you can take the Gaustabanen) and at the top you can enjoy the spectacular view over 1/6 of our beautiful country. Independent of activity, Rjukan area offers spectacular views and a rich historical heritage with hydro power plants occupied by Germans during the world war 2 and if you are into ice climbing you will find northern Europes best sites here. The ski resort at Gaustatoppen is known for being snow-sure and for opening early every year. The ski center now has 32 slopes and 12 lifts including 2 express chair lifts. The longest descent is 3.8 km, and the largest height difference is 550 meters. For snowboarding and off-piste, the area around Gaustatoppen is recognized as a fantastic and extremely challenging terrain. Gaustablikk also offers very good cross-country skiing with approximately 90 km of groomed trails, divided into 17 trails that span all levels of difficulty from an easy beginner trail of 1 km to a proper high mountain hike of 23 km.
