Yamadaya Ryokan
First opened in 1911 and recently renovated in March 2019, Yamadaya Ryokan offers a traditional calm Japanese-style accommodation with a public bath with views of the garden and free WiFi in Kyoto, just a 5-minute walk from Higashi Honganji Temple and a 10-minute walk to JR Kyoto Station. Featuring local Kyoto ingredients and organic Koshihikari-rice, guests can enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine for an additional fee on site. Kyoto-style Japanese breakfast can be ordered if requested in advance, at an additional charge. Dinner and breakfast is served in the another private room or the banquet hall. With a wine cellar and on-site sommelier and kikizakeshi sake expert, an array of wine, Japanese sake, craft beer and champagne is available at the ryokan to pair with the cuisine. Tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon bedding are provided in all guest rooms. Certain rooms feature a seating area for your comfort. Kyoto Tower is an 8-minute walk, while Kyoto Aquarium is an 8-minute bus ride away. Kyoto Railway Museum is 9 minutes by bus. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is 2.3 km from Yamadaya Ryokan, while Tofuku-ji Temple is 2.3 km from the property. The nearest airport is Osaka Itami Airport, a 50-minute drive away.
