Mountain Holidays is owned by British-American couple who have been living in Nagano Prefecture, Japan for over 18 years. Supported by our fun and friendly bilingual staff who all live in the village, we can't wait to show you around!

Property information

Whole building rental with high-speed wifi throughout! The lodge is located on a ski course of Togari Onsen Snow Resort. With 7 guest rooms, the building is 400 square meters so up to 24 guests can stay comfortably. Three traditional Japanese tatami mat rooms with futons and four western-style rooms with beds are on the second floor. A cot for a baby is available on request. Large recreation hall on the first floor, with table tennis, sofas, TV, beer vending machine, board games, kids play area and musical instruments (piano & guitar). Fully-equipped second floor dining/kitchen/bar with a wood pellet burning stove. May through October guests can use the patio area with covered seating, outdoor kitchen and BBQ. You can bring your own BBQ or rent one from us for an additional fee. Men’s and women’s showers and changing rooms. Total of 7 private shower booths and two large baths. 8 toilets are not en-suite. Ski and snowboard equipment room. Free clothes washer and coin-operated dryer. Parking for up to five cars. Pets Up to 2 dogs are allowed free of charge. A few days before you arrive please shampoo your pet, and make sure their nails are trimmed. We do not accept pets that are not yet toilet trained. Neutered and toilet-trained cats (up to 2) are also permitted. We accept most other kinds of pets, as long as they can be kept in a crate or cage, but please check with us first. Things to bring: Pet food, and feeding bowls, any medicine your pet needs, a carrying crate if necessary, your pet's bed, the toilet equipment your pet is used to using, a bath towel and some toys.

Neighbourhood information

This property is mid-mountain on a ski run at Togari Onsen, which means it is ski-in/ski-out. However, in winter there is no walking access to the shops, restaurants and bus stop so you will NEED to bring rental cars. Quiet resort, all levels of terrain, and same massive snowfalls as Nozawa Onsen or Madarao. Easy access to Shin-etsu trail for hiking and trail-running. Beautiful rural location to experience the Japanese countryside. Restaurants, bars, shops, and onsen baths at bases of the resort are 1.5 kilometers from the chalet. Great central location for snow sports, snow monkeys, culture, and more. Over ten other resorts are super close.
