Villa Ricevuto is an historic villa located in Valderice, West Sicily. It was built by Bartolo Ricevuto in the late 19th century as a summer residence for his family. At the time Valderice (formerly known as Paparella) was a collection of similar, large villas scattered over the landscape amongst an otherwise agricultural community. The family were fortunate enough to secure one of the best sites in the area with magnificent views of Mount Erice, Monte Cofano and the Gulf of Bonagia, whilst the contours of the local landscape funnel a cool breeze towards the house nearly all year round.
Valderice is one of the best kept secrets on the planet. The “go to” resort for the noble families of West Sicily in the 19th century, it has everything: mountains, azure sea, beautiful beaches, amazing food and an open-air theatre. It’s also within easy reach of Erice, Segesta, Trapani, Marsala, the island of Mozia, Mount Cofano National Park, Zingaro National Park, San Vito lo Capo and Castellammare del Golfo.
