Company information

We are passionate about the place we live and we think you will see why. Most of our guests come back again and again. We are also very happy to share this wonderful place we call home. We are a team, led by Mania Castelli Spalding who, with her father and brother own the property. Mania is a vet by training and remains passionate about animals (including our dogs, horses, sheep, chickens, rabbits and cow!). She is also a passionate cross-country runner. Mark Spalding, Mania's husband, is a conservation scientist. Between us we are dedicated to running a sustainable organic property, and we are always happy to share what we know and help you to get to know the property, the farm and woodland, and the many cultural sites all around. During your stay you'll meet Maria Luisa and the Hospitality Team that can help you with any requests, you will also meet Vincenzo Lunetta, our chef, and his dedicated restaurant staff, Giacomo the wine-maker. Marco heads the work in the fields, and his wife Barbara helps around the villa. Welcome!

Property information

Villa la Torre alle Tolfe is a big villa, available for individual room bookings, but also for events and exclusivity rent. It lies on a hilltop at the heart of an organic wine and oil estate. We are delighted to welcome guests from around the world. Only 3km from Siena, you will find yourself in a corner of paradise, with the skyline of Siena to the southeast, and Tuscan hills stretching in all other directions. The only sounds are birdsong and the occasional distant church-bells. 17 bedrooms, 2 suites and 5 apartments; double and single rooms with private bathroom on first and second floor with a lift. Some accommodation includes air conditioning, available in High-Season only, and with centralized controlled temperature, in compliance with the eco-sustainable philosophy of the property. Living rooms, fireplace and dining room on ground floor with big glass-door open to the gardens. The swiming pool, available in High Season, is second-to-none, with incredible views. The villa has an in-house chef and restaurant, lunches and evening meals are always available with a reservation in advance, with much of the food (and of course the wine and oil) grown on-site. Our restaurant has an "a la carte" menu on most evenings, and during the spring and summer season we organize a pizza evening on Sundays, using the ancient wood oven. Our gardens were designed by Pietro Porcinai, one of Italy's celebrated landscape architects, and are centred around an ancient tower built by Charlemagne in the late 700's. We produce wine since 1316 and we are very happy to organise wine tastings and tours of the property and wine cellar. We are excited to share all of this with you!
