Our country house is located in the small picturesque fishing village of Pozzillo and from it's commanding position overlooking the harbour, has breathtaking views across the sea to Calabria and along the coastline from Taormina to Catania. Spectacular sunrises, the gentle lapping of waves against the shore and the sound of fishing boats returning with the morning catch provides a welcome holiday escape. In addition to the four spacious, comfortable bedrooms and two suites, there is dining room and a communal lounge where guests may relax. The large 100 sq metre private terrace on the upper floor has adjacent rooms and provides magnificent views of the sea and Mount Etna. Breakfast is served on the main terrace, from which there are steps leading down through the rocks to the sea, where there is a small bathing platform for the exclusive use of guests.

My wife and I were both born in Switzerland although we spent most of our lives traveling and exploring the world . We lived in Paris for many years where we worked as a model photographer and a stylist . Our love and passion for art and literature made Paris the perfect city to live in for a while ... However we also shared another passion : traveling and exploring new cultures . This is what brought us first to live in a castle in the Haute Saone and then to move permanently to Sicily. We first welcomed our guests in a old remodeled winery which became our first b&b by the Etna slopes . In 2013 though we finally made our dream come true : moving by the sea and opening a B&B at Palazzo Pozzillo , a stunning building overlooking the sea.

The Palazzo Pozzillo is an ideal starting point for exploring the southeast of Sicily. Catania attracts visitors with its incomparable fish markets and the glamorous Taormina with its unique location and views of the coast. In the summer, Taormina’s open air Greek Theatre holds concerts featuring internationally acclaimed artists, under the starry sky. The ascent of Mount Etna - Europe's largest active volcano - is an unforgettable experience. The summit crater tour is only possible with an experienced guide. However, numerous walks on the south and north side guide you through lava flows of different eruptions, chestnut and oak forests and partly endemic vegetation. Around the Etna there are many traditional villages and interesting Baroque cities. Syracuse and Noto are perfect daytrip destinations. Built in yellow sandstone, they differ significantly from the more black lava stone buildings in northern towns. For swimming you will find rock, sand and pebble beaches nearby. In Pozzillo and other towns situated on the Cyclops, the picturesque rocky coast is particularly well suited for snorkeling.
