The apartments, carefully renovated and greatly finished in all its parts, are located in a building of great historical importance, dating back to 1730, its decorated facades are expression and pomp of the Catanese baroque style. There are many Baroque buildings in Catania, starting from the Palazzo degli Elefanti, where you can find the Municipality of Catania, built in 1696 in the spectacular Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo Biscari in the homonymous street and Palazzo Toscano (in piazza Stesicoro), not to forget is Palazzo Reburdone in via Vittorio Emanuele II and Palazzo Bruca, now home to the Toy Museum. All this and more makes Catania, the iconic city of Sicilian baroque.

The house, nearby the picturesque, noisy but very charming and characteristic market, we are talking about a mediterranean market (“La Pescheria”); where between the seminar and the Zappalà palace in a secluded corner of the square, you can discover the beautiful fountain of Amenano called "Fontana dell acqua o Linzolu" built in 1867 which represents the legend. Baroque stage that insists on the enchanting Piazza Duomo, which is not only the center, but is also the heart, brain and stomach of Catania. The Palace of the Elephants, seat of the Town Hall, and the Cathedral with its corner seminar are gathered around an inexplicable and pagan symbol that has nothing to do with Sicilian culture: an elephant surmounted by an Egyptian obelisk in the center of a baroque fountain. A few steps away is the adjacent Piazza Università, with its university founded in 1434, it was a bastion of culture already in times when it was almost the exclusive prerogative of the Church and especially of the monasteries.
