At only 10 minutes drive from the medieval walls of Florence, surrounded by thick vegetation with tall cypresses, the village is characterized by a cluster of buildings that are typical of the rural Tuscan landscape. This settlement, dating back to the end of the 14th century, developed around a kiln (ancient factory for the production of refined Tuscan ceramics). The Borgo is comprised of an old mill, barn, wine-fermentation room, brick-kiln and a peasant’s house. It has a courtyard paved in stone surrounded by a porch and other buildings. It adjoins the proprietor’s Villa with a little chapel decorated with 17th century frescoes and the former lemon-house overlooking a hanging garden. Today the entire premises have been transformed into cozy homes, without modifying the original architecture.
