Welcome to Carndonagh Carndonagh (Carn Domhnach) means cairn or mound of the Church. Carndonagh, situated in the centre of Inishowen, has for many years been considered the main market town in the north of the Inishowen peninsula, County Donegal, Ireland. The town lies in the shadow of Slieve Snaght (Sliabh Sneachta) and was founded as a monastic settlement in the 5th Century by St. Patrick or his followers.
