PYRGOS is a towerlike building situated 100 meters away from the ruins of an ancient fire signalling tower of simmilar dimentions. On top of the building fire signals spread the information far away. It is most possible that exactly through this very building the message of the conquest of Troya and the shipwreck of the Persian fleet near Athos in 5th century BC were transmitted to mainland Greece. PYRGOS is designed by the couple of it's owners-artists SPYROS and VASSILIKI KOSMAS. Ιt's ceiling is painted by VASSILIKI KOSMAS depicting the WINDS as described in the Greek Mythology. The mosaic dolphins in the swimming pool is VASSILIKI's artwork as well. HELIOS the sculpture by the pool is SPYRO'S. The architectural secret-tricks give PYRGOS a monumental and imposing view. PYRGOS property is part of the larger KOSMAS family estate since they own broad pieces of land on the island. The local name for the area is NISI because it is a peninsula which is approachable by one way in called LEMOS[NECK]. The landscape around PYRGOS faceing east is magnificent. The view is unhindered towards Northern Aegean, CHALKIDIKI, MOUNT ATHOS, NORTHERN SPORADES MARINE PARK, and as far as SKYROS to the Southeast.
