Self contained two bedroom flats situated on a hilly rural plot in central Corfu. The flats are airy, unpretentious first floor/ground floor flats with balconies/courtyards offering spectacular views and cool options throughout the day. The large plot offers communal spaces for the guests to enjoy the, quietness, the views and the surrounding nature. Access is by private road and there is free parking onsite. A vehicle is recommended to access the site although technically you can use public transport and your feet. First floor flats are equipped with mosquito screens, fans and air conditioning units. The water is from a well so currently you need to buy water for drinking and cooking.
They are both professionals who rent part of their property to short term and long term tenants. They like sharing the beauty of their plot and their organic vegetables ( when they turn up) with their guests. They moved recently to Greece from London and are renovating the site gradually with care for the environment. Where possible natural construction materials and paints are used. Solar energy is used for hot water and solar lights are used in the gardens where possible. Mild chemistry cleaning products are used on site and the surrounding land (gardens and fields) is being looked after following regenerative agriculture practices and philosophy. Plastic, paper and metal are recycled and food waste is used for compost.
Kokkini Peach House is situated in a beautiful hill side surrounded by nature yet it is only a 15'-20' drive to the historic and cosmopolitan Corfu Town and the airport/port/bus station. Nearby beaches, 15'-20' by car, include amongst other the famous Glyfada beach, Hermones, Myrtiotissa (nudist beach),Palaiokastritsa. There is a super market at the foot of the hill, 10' walk from the house. The nearby village of Agios Ioannis has a few shops and restaurants including traditional greek food restaurant, burger house, pizza, souvlaki, patisserie, coffee shops. Most shops in Agios Ioannis will deliver take away food orders to Kokkini Peach House. There are more villages around that offer good restaurants and other points of interest including the historic Pelekas village with the famous observation point for a 360 degrees view of Corfu, the narrow streets and old white washed houses. The Aqualand resort is also close by, offering water rides, swimming pools, shops and restaurants for all the family. North Corfu can be reached within 40'-50' by car and offers many options for a daily excursion.
