In zwei Gebäuden können insgesamt acht Personen in zwei Doppelbettzimmern und zwei Zimmern mit zwei Einzelbetten wohnen. Die Pergola mit einer Außenküche, einem Bad und einem Gemeinschaftsraum bildet das Herzstück der Hermitage. Die Hermitage kann entweder ganz oder teilweise gemietet werden. Das Schlafhaus mit der Pergola bietet Platz für sechs Personen und das 20 Meter entfernt stehende Holzhaus ist für zwei Personen ausgelegt. Die Hermitage Sykaminea befindet sich in einem Olivenhain am Hang des Berges Lepetymnos. Die Häuser nehmen die Struktur der Terrassen des Olivenhains auf. Von den Fensterfronten aus kann man über das Meer bis in die Türkei blicken. Die zwei Küchen sind voll ausgestattet (Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach, Waschmaschine, große Töpfe, Espressokocher, Mixer, …). Die zwei Bäder sind mit zwei Duschen und Waschbecken ausgestattet. Für heißes Wasser im Bad muss man den Holzofen einheizen.
Seit einigen Jahren betreibe ich die Hermitage Sykaminea mit Liebe und Leidenschaft. Mir ist es eine Freude, wenn sich meine Gäste wohl fühlen und Entspannung auf der Insel finden.
In Skala Sykamineas mit seinem kleinen Hafen und dem angrenzenden Strand Kagia gibt es einige Restaurants, Cafés, eine Bäckerei, einen Lebensmittelladen und Geschäfte mit lokalen Produkten. Von Sykaminea aus führen verschiedene Wanderwege auf den Gipfel des Berges Lepetymnos. Der Rundwanderweg von Sykaminea über Ai Lias, Kaya Vrysh, Lepetymnos, Chalikas, Agia Anna und Agios Konstantinos hat insgesamt 6,7 km. Der Gipfel des Berges Lepetymnos wird bei dieser Wanderung ausgelassen, dafür führt der Weg durch Olivenhaine, kleine Dörfer und Siedlungen, von denen man einen herrlichen Blick auf das Meer hat. Die Glocken der Schafherden klingen weit durch die hügelige Landschaft. Lesbos ist eine vulkanische Insel mit geothermischen Feldern. Aus ihnen sprudeln die Thermalquellen. Die Eftalou-Quellen liegen etwa 10 km von Skala Sykamineas entfernt. Das öffentliche Bad am Anfang des Strandes von Eftalou verfügt über ein Becken mit einer Temperatur von etwa 46°C.
