In the village there are still monuments from that time. The residents are distinguished for their hospitality and sociability while it has two traditional cafes and a small market. One of them serves traditional dishes, and has received rave reviews. Stunning taverns in the surrounding area complement the gastronomic possibilities. The streets of the village keep the old way of town planning with the alleys and many stone houses. The village and the surrounding countryside are ideal for nature lovers and walking. The possibility to be in the lively Heraklion in a few minutes makes Pentamodi a unique destination for locals and foreigners. Stores Pentamodi has two small shops a mini market where you can find fruits, vegetables, fruit, wine, cheese and fresh bread. You can also buy olives, wine, raki, honey, cheese, yogurt and other fresh products. Visit the Voutes for the ovens, and their excellent crackers, as well as the local butchers for cheese or meat. On the road to Heraklion, after PAGNI, there is also a very good bakery as well as a shop with organic products.
