WELCOME to Tris Ekklisies, a UNESCO World Heritage Site EXPERIENCE THE WILD, UNTOUCHED SOUTH OF CRETE! Surrounded by the majestic rocks of the Asterousia Mountains, the small, typically Greek fishing village of Tris Ekklisies welcomes you with a picturesque bay and crystal clear water. You can reach the village directly from Heraklion Airport in 45 minutes via the newly developed expressway. As the first house at the entrance to the village, on the right, you will find the Crete Southside Villas, reopening in May 2021. All 6 houses in the complex offer a 360 ° view of the sea and the mountains. The rooms are fully air-conditioned and located directly at the swimming pool in the courtyard. Look forward to luxury and comfort in a stylish ambience. You can reach the beach in just 2-3 minutes by foot via a staircase directly at the property. Right there you will find a Greek fish taverna, an ouzeria, a restaurant and a cocktail bar. There is a bakery and a small but well-stocked supermarket for daily needs. Also within walking distance are the beaches of Kolovdrehis, Volakas and Glikia Vlyhada, which are popular with locals.

Neighborhood info

Tris Ekklisies (meaning three churches) is a remote seaside village located 40 miles south of Heraklion, in the middle of the wild landscape of the Asterousia Mountains. The village takes its name from the three ancient Byzantine churches in the village. The area, one of the most remote in Crete, has some of the most beautiful beaches. Tris Ekklisies is about 10 km after the village of Paranymfi. The road leads through the mountains of Asterousia and descends through the rough, beautiful landscape to the sea. In Paranymfi you can visit the Byzantine church of St. Paul with the old frescoes (14th century). Half a kilometer after Paranimfi, you can admire the breathtaking view of the Libyan Sea and Tris Ekklisies. In the middle of the village the waterfall of the Ambas gorge flows with a height of 145m. Tris Ekklisies is in the bay at the exit of the Ambas gorge. The walls of the gorge are home to Southern Europe's largest colony of the rare Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus). Whether culture, hiking, water sports, gastronomy or relaxation and sunbathing, Tris Ekklisies and Crete Southside Villas offer it.
