Unwind in this peaceful house on an island full of character & culture. The surrounding 10 acres of land, an animal farm (chicken, rabbits, peacocks & more) & your own private beach offer lots of opportunities to relax & have fun with your family. Kick off your day with fresh eggs from the coop and the breathtaking view of the Aegean sea. While on a beach walk you'll be greeted by the flamingos & other Natura reserve wildlife. Relax in the nearby hot springs followed by fresh fish, local delicasies & ouzo in the village taverns. The beach in front of the property (accessible wearing crocs), unspoiled by human, will be the place for you to swim in the crystal clear waters of the Kalloni gulf, sunbathe (beach equipment provided) on its pebbled beach & in the night enjoy your drink under the starry sky with the sound of the waves. The property is ideal for both summer and winter as it is fully airconditioned & heated with an energy fireplace! A cot is available on request.
Lesvos is an island full of character and culture, largely unspoilt by tourism. We will be more than happy to help you plan your day out (where/what to visit, eat etc)! There are two other properties in the land where we are staying and we will be delighted to help you with anything you need!
The property is one hour drive from Mytilene's port and airport. We are happy to pick you up from Polichnitos village on arrival. The nearby village of Polichnitos with its unique, traditional stone architecture influenced by Asia Minor, has everything you will need. Kafeneia (local cafes), grocery shops with local produce and pharmacies. Places highly recommended to visit: - Vatera beach (9 km) the best organised beach on the island - Agiasos village (25 km) to buy pottery and visit its beatiful church - The monasteries of Taxiarches (45 km) and St Rafael (42 km) - Plomari village (48 km) the capital of ouzo - Molyvos village (53 km) famous for its unique architecture - Skala Sykamineas village (58 km) with its church built in the sea - Eresos village (78 km) the birthplace of Sapfo - The unique Petrified forest of Sigri (80 km), a UNESCO Geo park Some of the photos of the birds and wildlife are courtesy of David Hawkins.
