Alfa village is a quiet traditional village in the province of Mylopotamos Rethymno. Is known for the unique white stone used in the construction of the houses and for their decoration! Is also known for the great Cretan music artist Konstantinos Mountakis, who was born here and in his memory is held every summer, folk Cretan music festival! Alfa is near to Perama(5km) a town with all comforts, as big super markets, banks, post office, gas station, ATM, pharmacies, hospital, police and fire department! There are also near some interesting villages you have to explore as Eleftherna(5km) with ancinet city and necropolis and the new museum! Margarites village(5km) known of its pottery tradition! Panormos village(12km) is a small town near the sea, with nice beaches and many tavernes, cafes! Near to Alfa is also the historic monastery Arkadi(13km).
