The owners were the most accommodating people I've encountered when booking a hotel/b&b and tried to help in all ways as we'd arrived unexpectedly with a car and trailer full of motorbikes. The room was very tidy, well decorated and had wonderful additions such as makeup removed cloths, hair wraps, biscuits, sweets, ear plugs, eye wipes etc. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. Would 100% stay again if we were in the area.
Set amongst the beautiful Wye Valley, Smithfield Farm Bed and Breakfast offers wonderful views of the hills above Builth Wells.

We were amazed at the effort that was made to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The extra little touches added by the hosts were classy. I won't spoil the little surprises by revealing what awaits you as a guest at this B&B. The room and en suite facilities are spotlessly clean, you won't find better. They have a novel way of presenting breakfast in your room that works perfectly. We had a fully cooked English/Welsh Breakfast, delicious. I have never met the hosts before and we only stayed one night, just the nicest of people.

It is an amazing place with beautiful surroundings. The room was clean with great facilities. Jane was very welcoming and made an amazing breakfast (make sure you're hungry), and Richard was extremely knowledgeable about the surroundings and history if you need to know where to go. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Everything about this place is amazing! We come as a group, two couples. We came this time for my husbands 40th. This was our 3rd stay. We love the area, how peaceful it is. Everything in the lodge that we would need. Exceptionally clean and tidy and so many personal touches. A home from home! So beautiful. Nothing is too much trouble, and the host is always accomadating and happy to help in any way. We were greeted with baloons, a banner, and some beautiful birthday cookies. We even caught the most amazing views of the Aurora Borealis this time too.

Everything. Janette is an amazing host. The property is ideal and the views are second to none. The eggs, bread, milk etc left for us gave us a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs which we enjoyed on the veranda. Definitely a little piece of Heaven.
Beautiful cottage in a peaceful and very quiet location.

The property is very rural and closer to Hay on Wye than Builth. If you like holidays that are mainly rural/scenic with small towns then this is good. Good for cycling etc Hay is a bijou town and Brecon appealing. We visited a few old churches close by, many from Norman times - fantastic. Art exhibitions in both Hay and Brecon. Eating in hay is relatively cheap and most appealing

We stayed at Builth 1) Because that was the location of the cabin.2) Builth is close to Rhayader and we wanted to see the dam and scenery there.3) Builth itself had a good choice of places to eat and is a nice town with good sized car park.It is easy to get around Builth and has a good choice of places to eat from cafes to restaurants. Can't say there is anything we would avoid.

The township is lovely, plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. Clean well kept town with a sense pride. Friendly too. There is the river with a long path running alongside it. This is used by the locals with kids or walking their dogs. Always people out and about.

A small friendly Welsh town famous for the Royal Welsh Showground with its wonderful events at different times throughout the year. Beautiful location within a scenic, rural, surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains, and close to Brecon Beacons National Park. Enough options for all needs, re restaurants, pubs and shops. But not too much to be overwhelming, nicely accessible for our short stay.

Beautiful spotless comfy accommodation.
Beautiful spotless comfy accommodation. We were staying for the Hay Festival and although off the beaten track, it was pretty close to Hay on Wye. The owners left some Welsh cakes and a bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. The accommodation is brand new and has everything one needs. Would highly recommend.
It is in a beautiful location. The room we had (Glyndawr) was very spacious and well-equipped. The bed was super comfortable and the facilities were good. Having a fridge and fresh milk was lovely. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. Very relaxing and peaceful stay at the end of what had been a pretty busy few days travelling around West Wales. Having breakfast served in the room was a really nice touch. We stayed here some years ago (in a different room) and our second visit was just as enjoyable..
Great full Welsh and vegetarian breakfasts. The Thai cuisine and Welsh lamb dinners were excellent too. Paul, Chruti and their team were all friendly and attentive to their guests. Our room standard was very good quality, clean and quiet, even though the hotel is on a busy main road.
All in all we had a great value, quality and memorable three day stay at the Llanelwedd Arms. This is a well-located base from which to explore and enjoy mid-Wales and we would certainly recommend it .
I was very happy at Nick and Lydia guesthouse. Very friendly and helpful. I was amazed by my breakfast on the morning. I had a typical Welsh one, homemade, of course with local products. That is a plus when, as a tourist from abroad, you want to discover a country. I also noticed in my room, few homemade cookies. After a full week traveling through Wales, it's definitely my best stay. I warmly recommend.
The Seven Stars Inn is located in a very quiet village near the River Wye. It has free off road parking to the rear of the building. It is community run and all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was pleasant and comfortable, with free secured wifi. Food was very good, both in the evening and breakfast, which was available from 7.00am.
Excellent breakfasts, individually catered for, using local produce where possible.
Lovely quiet location, with walks from the door, and easy access to the Elan Valley, the Brecons and much of mid Wales' beautiful countryside. Nearby villages and towns for pubs and restaurants.
Everything was lovely at this holiday cabin. Clean, modern, well equipped with everything you need, warm in autumn winter, lovely rural location to explore countryside and woodlands nearby
Our family guyfawkes stay here with our little dogs was lovely.
Host is lovely too.
The location is beautiful, the nearby town Builth was a 20 min walk over a rope bridge through the hotel estate and along the river to the small bridge. The people of Builth are very friendly and the town hosts many local pubs which all will give you a warm welcome.
The lodge was very clean and more spacious in the living area than we expected. The weather was a bit chilly in the evenings and it was good to have heaters to keep the place warm. We very much enjoyed watching the rabbits and birds and the lovely surroundings.
Tony and Sandra were great hosts and gave us lots of information about the local area for exploring. The breakfast was excellent, especially the homemade yoghurt. The room was comfortable and spacious with all you could need for your stay.
The whole experience at Smithfield Farm was excellent. We were provided with home made cake every day which was a bonus plus we have to say that the breakfast was exceptional. We will book there again if we ever return to that area.
It was lovely to go to a unique and friendly hotel in such a beautiful part of Wales. The staff were brilliant and our room was comfortable and cosy. We had a lovely time and the best egg mayonnaise sandwich I ever had for lunch!
Breakfast was lovely, though felt a bit of pressure to be down at time specified the night before. The room was very nice and spacious, with privacy for each twin bed. Car park on site, and excellent location on the high street.
The room was very large, very clean and very comfortable, the host even delivered breakfast personally to our table in our room, never had that before, if you are going to this part of Wales, then stay here, 4 star plus.
Basic room but all you need. Excellent location right on the showground was lucky to get a room! Made life so easy working on a stand at event. Great nights sleep! Staff really friendly!
