South Creake is a charming North Norfolk village. The river Burn runs through the village and there is an open green with playing field, football field, tennis courts - and lots of ducks! The Ostrich Inn is the popular village pub and serves fine local and seasonal food. Just outside neighbouring North Creake on the way to Burnham Market is Creake Abbey which has an interesting array of artisan shops, a wonderful food hall and cafe and a very popular farmers market on the first Saturday each month. Wine enthusiasts should definitely head to Burn Valley Vineyard. Amble down the vine rows before heading back to the winery to sample their fantastic latest vintages accompanied by a charcuterie platter. The Duck at Stanhoe, about 10 minutes away, is a superb and very popular dining pub - you definitely need to book (it serves a delicious Sunday lunch, which goes on all day). The cottage is about five minutes drive to Burnham Market with its array of shops, galleries, design jewellery, a great butcher, cafes and restaurants, and the famous Hoste Arms, which has a spa. The drive to the beautiful North Norfolk coast takes only 10 minutes with the nearest beaches being at Brancaster, Holkham and Wells-Next-The-Sea and it's about the same distance to Fakenham where there is an excellent weekly Thursday market, as well four supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl & Aldi) and two petrol stations.
