You will have your own room with security lock, TV and smart speaker. Each room has an electric heated under-blanket for extra warmth and comfort, a hairdryer, a hanging rail and chest of drawers. Towels and linens are provided, and the house (including your room) is centrally heated. You'll have full access to the kitchen, which is well equipped and includes a microwave, blender, food mixer etc etc, plus a breakfast bar and workspace with TV & smart speaker. You'll have use of the fridge & freezer, and because the only other person in the house is me you won't have to worry about anyone nicking your stuff! There's a washing machine and tumble drier which you can use by arrangement, along with an iron and ironing board. You'll also be able to enjoy the spacious, peaceful lounge which includes a 55-inch Sky Glass TV and smart speaker as well as a further workspace with desk, lamp and office chair. There is 24 hour hot water in the bathroom shower. A welcome basket of toiletries is provided.

I've been hosting homestays for a while. I travelled a lot in my youth, and wish there had been homestays available back then! I spent most of my time youth-hostelling which was wonderfully affordable, but I really missed basic creature comforts and any feeling of safety or security. I have two small, very friendly and well behaved dogs (both rescues) and four rescue cats - one from Thailand! All are quiet and friendly, and the cats spend a lot of time in the outside Catio or asleep (unless there is any chicken on offer). I work part time, but I'm a quiet, easy going and relaxed host, so you won't need to worry about noise or antisocial/messy/demanding housemates.

It's a quiet neighbourhood, but extremely well placed. The closest shop is a well-stocked Co-op two minutes' walk away. there is a lovely tea-room about three minutes' walk away, and a pharmacy and medical centre at the end of the street. Buses to and from Sheffield city centre stop about 50 metres from the house, and Chapeltown train station is ten minutes' walk away. If you drive, you are welcome to park your car on the driveway, which is gated. A major supermarket just over half a mile away as well as lots of green space and woodland to explore on the doorstep.
