Westerly is charming Grade 2 listed holiday cottage based in the heart of Penryn, a stones throw from bus routes, train links, town and fantastic food and drink venues. Penryn offers a great Cornish experience, steeped in history and full of charm with a thriving art community to discover and friendly locals. Falmouth is a short drive, quick bus ride or 30 minute walk way, a bustling town with a busy harbour, views, beaches and great places to eat and drink. The property can be accessed on foot from the roadside and has street parking nearby (suggested locations can be provided). There is a sunny rear tiered garden accessed via granite steps from the back door. Please note this is an old cottage and retains features that maybe unsuitable for those with accessibility needs and young children, specifically the height and width of the internal stairwell only and steps to the rear garden, and the small pavement to the road at the front of the property. All other internal rooms are of sufficient height. Whilst we appreciate you may be driving to Cornwall, the location of this property is suited for the use of public transport given its excellent public transport links and proximity to the water and wider towns and villages which are also great to explore on foot, train or bus. The property makes an excellent base for explorers and is most suited to active and/or quieter travellers wanting to experience a traditional cottage in a historic town. Penryn has cobbled one way streets and alleys and can be hilly in small places. Street parking and public car parks (free and chargeable) are possible nearby but no parking is guaranteed directly outside the property itself.

We have lived in Cornwall our entire lives so can share lots of suggestions and helpful information for your trip. When we finally settled as a couple some 7 years ago we found our little slice of Cornish heaven in Penryn and Falmouth and we think it is the best place in Cornwall to live in terms of our community, activities, events, connectivity, diversity and traditions. We love all the walks on our doorstep, the numerous good places to eat and drink, the secret quiet spots on the estuary or inland, and the abundance of real ale! We love Penryn as a location due to the regular bus routes, branch train line and ease of getting by boat or on foot to all the beautiful areas closely eg. Helford, St Mawes, Flushing, Mylor. We feel very lucky to live here and we hope you enjoy it as much as us.

Penryn is steeped in history and based on the fringes of Falmouth. A picturesque high street offers vacationers excellent pubs, fish n chips, a local shop, coffee and creative maker shops. The centre boasts an attractive clock tower and there is a museum in the town hall. You will find Beryl E-bikes are also available to get your self around with ease from outside the Seven Stars Brew Pub. Penryn transport connections are excellent due to its proximity to Falmouth University so you can take regular buses to and from Falmouth, Penzance (via Porthleven), Helston and Truro. You will find a smaller bus service to Mylor and Mabe. The train station is a 10 minute walk away from the property (Truro to Falmouth branch line, national connections from Truro).
