The medieval village of Lavenham is just 3 miles away noted for it's Guildhall, Little Hall, 15th century Church, half-timbered medieval cottages and circular walks. Just 8 miles away is the Town of Sudbury which was the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, his home is now a museum to his work and is open to the public.

A stunning 16th Century thatched inn, in the heart of the pretty Suffolk village of Monks Eleigh. With an inglenook fireplace and log burner it's perfect for those cold winter nights and in the summer enjoy a drink al fresco on our sun terrace overlooking our wonderful village green. ** PLEASE NOTE** Our restaurant is permanently closed but there are some great restaurants nearby and the option for take away to be delivered. We also have a fish & chip van outside the pub on a Tuesday evening.
