Hiding on the hilltop near Paignton is The Spinney, an inspiring and spacious five-bedroom holiday home with incredible views over the sea and across rolling Devon hills. This contemporary detached property sleeps 10 people in five bedrooms, and is ideal for a group getaway with friends and family. The Spinney has lots of spaces to gather together for food and drinks inside and out, as well as quiet areas to unwind and read a book, making this Devon home-from-home the perfect place to escape to all year round. A separate gym gives you space to exercise, or blow off steam at the beach, just a short walk away. The vast outside deck and terrace overlook the breathtaking coastline, all the way from Torquay down to Berry Head. You might even spot the steam train travelling from Paignton to Dartmouth! If you can bear to leave, simply hop on the bus, which stops right outside the house, to explore the English Riviera beyond. The Spinney provides an unforgettable Devon break: access to beautiful coastline and inland walks while living in pure comfort.

Neighbourhood information

If you want to explore a bit further than the garden, you can pop down to Broadsands – an idyllic sand-and-stone beach. Explore the rock pools at low tide or play a spot of football or cricket on the parkland directly behind the beach. The long promenade provides a level walk to both ends of the beach and has brightly coloured beach huts available to hire for the day. Its location makes it an ideal starting point for scenic coastal walks. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food. Try the Waterside Inn or, down on the beach, K’ohana and The Venus Cafe. Rowcroft Hospice Shop & Tea Room is just five minutes’ stroll from the Spinney. Head to Squires to treat yourself to traditional fish and chips. Paignton itself is one of the brightest jewels in the English Riviera’s crown. The seafront and town centre shops are all within close proximity, making it an ideal Devon holiday resort for that relaxing break away. Once you arrive, you don’t have to go far, but of course, there is plenty to see and do in the area if you wish to get out and about and explore. Visit the popular seaside towns of Brixham and Torquay, which are a short bus ride away.
