Welcome to The Lodge at Camels, a contemporary 4-sleeper (+2 dogs) lodge set in idyllic Cornish coastal countryside with stunning sea views. The Lodge is set within our private land in the small hamlet of Camels above the fishing village of Portloe, on the Roseland Peninsular. A new-build project completed in spring 2022, The Lodge was designed to be a well appointed, minimal and contemporary space flush with its exceptional natural surroundings. Hello, my name is Chris. I have lived on the Roseland Penninsula, Cornwall, for 20 years, with my wife Jayne and two teenage children. We are both teachers and in 2022 will be hosting our newly completed space, The Lodge. As a family we enjoy the beautiful area we live in, sailing and walking our Irish Setter Rosie on the beach. Before and throughout your stay, we remain at your disposal to be contacted via the Airbnb app messenger, or by mobile. Whilst we live a short distance from The Lodge, we politely ask that instead of approaching our home you contact us by mobile first, and we will be glad to assist. We are proud to manage, clean and maintain the Lodge ourselves, rather than using an agency. Our family have lived on the Roseland for 20 years so we will be delighted to recommended places of interest. You will be greeted warmly by our Irish Setter Rosie and cat Nemo!
The Lodge creates a feeling of seclusion while remaining in convenient proximity to local highlights including the coastal path, a 5 minute walk from The Lodge. Our tranquil rural location evades the busyness of tourist villages, but provides the ideal base to explore the Roseland Peninsula, including beautiful beaches and the popular seaside villages of Portscatho and St Mawes, each a 10 minute drive away. Please see my Airbnb Guidebook for local recommendations. Ahead of your stay, we will send our postcode for you to find The Lodge; please refer to the listed photo of our home as a help to find us from the road. Please be aware that we are rurally located and the Cornish lanes of the Roseland are narrow and winding. The Lodge has a gravel drive and parking for two cars beside the property. There are countless beauty spots in walking distance from The Lodge, including the Coastal Path (5 minute walk), the fishing village of Portloe (10 minute walk) and Carne Beach (5 minute drive.) Other sights of the Roseland are easily accessed by short car trips, while the historic towns of Truro and Falmouth are perfect for days out.
