The Estuary Retreat at the Farmhouse is a Grade 11 listed property retaining original features and charm. It has 3 large bedrooms and 3 large reception rooms, one of which has a double sofabed and chair-bed. There is a very comfortable 2 bedroom (double and single) mobile home which accommodates up to 4 as there is a chair bed in the lounge. It has its own enclosed private garden, which is lawned and has a veranda that gets the late evening sun, the views are of open countryside and our three horses. We are very happy to allow up to 2 well-behaved dogs per accommodation upon request.
We are originally from the local area and after living and working in London for many years, we missed the country and sea too much so moved back. We now live/work from our two-and-a-half-acre property and love being able to share our beautiful surroundings with others, we also understand the importance of our guests' privacy. We will be on hand to answer any questions and give advice about the local area and beyond but we will also respect your privacy and leave you to enjoy your holiday. We have 2 cats, a dog, and 3 horses living at our property, some of our guests like to come and see the horses up close and we're happy to accommodate this if we're around.
Positioned on the North Wales Coastal Path, it is minutes away from the estuary which is populated by a variety of migrating birds, and is within walking distance of the RSPB Point of Ayr Nature Reserve and Coed y Garth, a semi-ancient woodland. It is ideal for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. It is also ideally situated for Mostyn docks and contract workers. The Farmhouse is in a conservation area and used to grow wheat which was milled at the Garth Mill, another beautiful Listed building a short walk up Garth Lane. It also provided hay for the pit ponies who worked at the Point of Ayr mines. There is a local Post Office/Convenience store in the village as well as a couple of pubs, a charity shop, and a Chinese takeaway. Prestatyn town center is 10 mins drive away, with a long stretch of sandy beach, hillside walks, a retail park with a number of well know retail and hospitality outlets, and lots of independent shops and cafes. Talacre beach, with its iconic Lighthouse, is less than 5 mins drive away and has miles of a long sandy beach and sand dunes.
