Pretty village several good pubs and a really good Micropub. the amazing Cragside House only a mile and a half outside the village. N.T. over 40 miles of walks on the estate and 6 mile carriage walk which you can drive round. Queens Head served a good meal on Saturday night. Closed for meals after 6 p.m. on Sunday. Rothbury is only about 12 miles from Alnwick, an attractive market town with a castle used in Harry Potter films.

Small town with lots of quirky shops, three pubs, a wine bar and good cafe and bakeries.
Lots of interesting things to see and do mainly connected with Lord Armstrong who was an engineer and armament supplier in the Great War. The town has erected the Armstrong cross on the green in front of the church and pub in his honour
A visit to Cragside is a must!!!

Difficult to give a review as my paternal family come from Rothbury, however, its a great place to stay for a short break or to use as a centre for touring whether by bike, car or other mode of transport. Some great walks around the area and of course Cragside is a must visit place
The lodge was spacious, clean and modern. A bonus for our grandchildren was a TV in the twin bedroom just for them! The view from the decking was quite pretty, overlooking the opposite hill and a forest (we were positioned at the top of the hill). The host was very friendly and helpful and quickly answered any queries I had via email. The site was clean and tidy. It was quite close to the centre of Rothbury, being a short walk away. Rothbury was very pretty with plenty of places to eat.
Great little spot in an ideal place to go on adventures in Rothbury and surrounding areas. Parking at the hotel made it easy to venture out and have somewhere to park and stay.
The food was delicious and would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. My wife and sister Inlaw said it was the best ever.
The staff were lovely and very welcoming to the kids and even more so to our dog who was in his element.
I stayed in the Garden Room; a suite of bedroom, shower room and sitting room, that opened directly onto the beer garden at the rear of the hotel. Breakfast, in the main building, was a full cooked breakfast and all the staff were friendly and cheerful. Location, in the heart of Rothbury is convenient and free on-street parking was reasonably easy to get. Good beer at good prices too!
Very comfortable and stylish property. A great place to stay in Rothbury and convenient for many gems in Northumberland places to visit, Cragside is very close, Wooler, Kielder, Holy Isalnd, Berwick and Alnwick are easy to reach, and wel worth an excursion.
Will definitely be returning, folks are very friendly. I took my e-bike and enjoyed cycling around the local area
Lou and Shaun were incredible hosts and the place was incredibly surprising - a wonderful Northumberland farm experience and the biggest B&B room we have stayed in. There is so much history to the place and a visit to Cragside is a must do to complement the Cragend farm experience. Can not rate this place or the hosts highly enough.
Beautiful location, and close enough to areas of interest such as Bamburgh and Alnwick. Recommended nearby pubs to eat would be Cook and Barker and the Northumberland Arms - both served excellent food (fabulous fish at Northumberland Arms and superb steak at Cook and Barker) - both more of a gastro style pub restaurant.
We've visited Rothbury many time over the last 30 years and have stayed at the Queen's Head Hotel and had many enjoyable family meals there. It's an old building and although it was refurbished a few years ago you have to accept that it's not a new building so there's some creaks and knocked corners.
Great location and great staff. Short walk to town centre but makes the hotel very peaceful. The bar and outside area are great for a quiet drink in the sun. The rooms were good and great old building with great features.
This site of mainly privately owned homes is fairly small but absolutely immaculate, I have never seen a better maintained site.
Rothbury is a very attractive large village/small town with good facilities.
Great quiet village with a pub and restaurant within easy walking distance. Lots to do in the area.
Fab bookshop in Alnwick, about 15 miles away. Cragside is worth a day there, just outside Rothbury.
Really friendly hotel with lots going on. Dog and child friendly. Good food options. Lots of other amenities nearby and park for kids and dog. Helpful staff, would stay again.
Lovely room. (Room 10). Comfy bed. Nice sitting area on the outside terrace. Dog friendly. Free parking. Good value. 5 minute walk to village centre down the hill.
