Putney is on the River Thames in zone 2 in South West London. It's a leafy and desirable part of London, and enjoys the best of both worlds - its super proximity to central London, and its large wild common areas, river walks, sailing, rowing and pubs. Its transport links are incredible, it has two tube stations, one mainline train station from where you can be in Waterloo in 8 minutes, an excellent bus network and river taxi service. It's a vibrant mixture of families and professionals and neighbours the beautiful villages of Barnes, Richmond and Wimbledon, but is much closer to central London. It's super easy to explore London and its surrounds from Putney! You can walk, cycle on the many hire bikes, hop on and off the train, buses and tubes, or even take a river taxi into any part of central London. Clapham Junction is one stop away, and from there you can access any part of the UK, and the beautiful surrounds of Windsor with its famous castle (20 minutes), the beautiful Surrey Hills and picturesque villages and the coastal gems of Brighton and Hove (50 minutes).
