Welcome to our pet-friendly family home Strathview in the old Victorian part of Strathpeffer. Our 2 guest rooms are large with views over the garden to the hills, with an ensuite shower room. Each room has a double bed, sitting area with chairs and table and lamps It also has a kettle, tea & coffee, hot chocolate, mugs and glasses. Each room has central heating, a hairdryer and an iron. There is unlimited wifi throughout the house. We provide a full cooked breakfast at no extra cost. Our daughter, Rhiannon, also lives at Strathview with her 2 children, Aubree (2) and Zac (1). There is also our very friendly dog, Kevin, as well as 2 cats. The house has a very large garden and private off-road parking for at least 4 vehicles and plenty of storage for bikes, canoes and other equipment. If you have a classic car there is a dry garage where you can park it. If you are travelling with a baby or toddler we have baby food, a cot and high chair and plenty of toys.
I've lived in Strathpeffer for the last 17 years after moving from London. I grew up in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong and lived in Jerusalem (wonderful!) and Nigeria with my husband, Rob, who was in the British Diplomatic Service. I like eating out, films, travel to Spain and walking our dogs. I work part-time for Tesco. Eventually we plan to retire to our holiday home in Almeria in South East Spain.
Strathpeffer is a lovely village with lots for visitors to do. There is the old Victorian Station, the Highland Museum of Childhood, the Spa Museum, coffee shops, gift shops, a deli, two churches, a newsagents/post office which sells food and drink, a pharmacy and hairdressers. There are frequent concerts, fairs and exhibitions at the Pavilion, and Castle Leod on the edge of the village is open on several weekends during the summer. There are several bars and restaurants as well as hotels. In the summer months there is Highland dancing and bagpipes in the Square every Saturday evening. The village has an excellent 18 hole golf course where visitors are very welcome. You can hire a set of clubs there or, if you prefer you can borrow our set, please just ask. There are plenty of opportunities locally for cycling and walking. Rogie Falls and Tollie Red Kites are a short drive from the village and we can provide directions. The house is a 5 minute walk up from golf course road from Strathpeffer Square where you can catch buses to Dingwall, Inverness, Ullapool and Gairloch.
