Location was perfect for the reason for the visit - the pub/brewery across the fields. Really well placed for visits to Long Melford and Lavenham plus all the other cracking villages in the area. Lovely warm comfortable barn conversion with lots...

Company information

Hi I’m Mark After travelling the world, I decided to settle down in Suffolk twenty years ago and started my own little business with a beautiful old derelict farm complex, which I converted into six lovely little cottages for people to escape from city life and enjoy the wonderfully rural experience that this area amazingly has, despite its close proximity to London. I love what I do and am ‘Hands On’ with welcoming guests to my own six cottages, as well as looking after my Cottage Agency 'The Grove Cottages' that soon developed as other owners came asking me to take on their cottages and give them the same level of personal customer care, attention, and promotion that we are known and appreciated for. I don’t want to be a huge company, I’m very happy to have a small agency where personal involvement is always the priority and where I can pick only places which I love and know inside out to join us. I am always available to answer any questions and above all else I want you to be in a cottage that suits you, so you will become our ambassador. Please do ask me a question about this cottage and I will give you a very honest answer. Best Wishes Mark - The Grove Cottages

Property information

Full of style and character with a spacious loft feeling, this is a cosy single storey cottage in a lovely countryside setting which is very centrally located for exploring this beautiful part of Suffolk. The cottage enjoys large Orchard gardens, including an acre of dog exercise orchard and meadow, complete with a pretty Dog washing Station for muddy dogs including fluffy white towels for Pampered Pets :) Superfast Broadband is supplied to this cottage. And bicycles provided for free for you to explore the tiny meandering lanes which usually end up a a Pub ( at least they will if you follow my map guides ). VisitEngland 4 Star Gold: Snow Cottage has been given a Gold Award by the Tourist Board for exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service since 2009. There is off-road parking and lovely countryside walks straight from the cottage, you can walk across the field to our local dog friendly pub which has its own micro brewery. The main room has a beautiful old wood floor, a big Persian rug, an impressively high vaulted wooden ceiling with pretty soft red-brick walls, distressed lime washed lime plaster and a lovely ‘extra big’ sofa. On the left there is a hand-crafted kitchen with gas hob, electric oven and a Belfast sink. Beyond this is a cosy bedroom and a luxury marble bathroom with an oversized walk-in shower. Snow Cottage is part of the rambling old (ex) Grove farm dating back to 1720 If you would like to bring a dog please let us know and we will add it to your booking at 20 Pounds per pet for up to 7 nights - 2 well behaved doggies are welcome. Banned Dogs: Please also note that if you are considering bringing a dog breed which may be thought of as a danger or a concern to others, then Please check with us first before booking and we will discuss the suitability of our cottage. Please note that cottage owners cannot accept pets that have not been paid for, so please make sure that you have paid for your pet before arrival.

Neighbourhood information

The Old Grove Farm, is set in open countryside and surrounded by Gardens and a one acre dog exercise Orchard, it is made up of ancient brick buildings, which were a farm workers cottage, winnowing barns, dairies and bakeries. It has a large central courtyard with a long open barn with bicycles, BBQ’s, tables and benches, it is lit at night by fairy lights and creates a double quadrangle, the buildings are now converted into 6 much loved holiday cottages with individual entrances from different areas affording guests a high degree of privacy. It is where our little business started and where we are based. While being very rural, civilisation is just a 10-minute car drive away and will get you to shops, swimming pools, etc. Your cottage is a very special place that is loved by guests and perfect for a romantic escape to the lovely Suffolk countryside. Kersey, a delightful Medieval village, is a 10 minute bike amble down the lane from us, and has an excellent Pub by the ford for thirsty cyclists. Lavenham ‘England’s best preserved Medieval Village’ is just 4 miles away. This is a place where you can feel a million miles away from City life, really relax and enjoy just being part of.
