Brand New Listing for June 2023! We’ve extensively renovated to get this lovely cottage ready for guests. The Nook is a limestone built detached cottage, dating back to 1890. We’re located in the quiet rural Peak District village of Taddington - halfway between the popular towns of Bakewell & Buxton. Muddy Paws Cottages’ aim is to give guests and their 4-legged friends an equally memorable getaway in a cosy, luxury cottage in the heart of the Peak District. We can offer sleeping for up to 4 in 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king size double, and the second bedroom can be made up into either 2 x singles or 1 x double. Please specify upon booking. We have a beautiful new wood burning stove, underfloor heating downstairs, a fully renovated bathroom with rainfall shower - and smart lighting all to make your stay extra special. Our patio garden is fully enclosed, we have plenty of walks right from the doorstep and there’s a village pub a 5 minute walk away!
Myself and my wife met aged 16 at school and got married at 21. We grew up in the Peak District in Derbyshire, and bought our first house - The Nook - in Taddington in 2020. In 2023, we moved up to the highlands in Scotland. I work as en emergency ambulance technician, and my wife is a primary school teacher. We’re really happy we kept The Nook in the family - and our guests can create new memories with our place just like we did! There will be someone contactable by message or phone for any problems.
Taddington is a small, quiet rural village located just off the A6 halfway between the popular towns of Buxton & Bakewell. Located in the White Peak, Taddington boasts a wide range of walks direct from the doorstep. The Peak District itself offers many outdoor activities to suit all tastes, ranging from hill walking to exploring the famous Chatsworth House Estate. There are many excellent places to eat in the area - including The Queen’s Arms a short 5 minute walk from The Nook. Look out for our local guide book for more recommendations. The property has a small driveway with parking space for one small or medium sized car. There is also ample free on road parking outside the property. There are other local villages within a few miles walking distance. Taddington has frequent public transport links to Buxton, Bakewell and beyond.
