NEW FOR 2024 Little Brook is a charming dog friendly detached 1 bedroom studio style cabin located on the main route to Yarmouth, on the Island’s west coast, with a fabulous pub and restaurant nearby. The fantastic, enclosed garden allows for a secure area for the dogs and a private area for sitting out. The layout is simple and provides all that you need for a perfect getaway, and ideally positioned to provide a centrally located base to explore the Island. Local Area Ningwood Ningwood itself is a rural village with a popular dog and family friendly restaurant pub renowned for its home cooked meals. With a local village store - open 8am to 7pm [9 to 1 Sundays] 1 mile away in Shalfleet, as well as fine dining pub; the new Inn, you will never be too far away from a comforting meal or some pantry essentials. The best thing about Ningwood and the surrounding area though are the walks. 1 mile away in Shalfleet you will locate access to the National Trust Newtown National Nature Reservation conservation area of Newtown Creek. Here you will find a handy car park just at the bottom of Town Lane, a fabulous area to explore, birdwatch and cycle. Nearby to the Horse and Groom there is a footpath to access the coastal and woodland paths that will take you all the way into Yarmouth, a 7-mile trek along one of the most scenic paths in the south of England – approximately 3.5 hours. Keep your dogs on their leads here. Ningwood is also on the main bus route to Yarmouth and the West Wight as well as northward into Newport, the Islands County town. We will leave the rest of the adventure to the visitor. Yarmouth The historic town of Yarmouth is situated in the West of the island, being one of the main entry points, for car and foot passengers from the mainland via Lymington, a serene journey or around 30 minutes. The Town square has a traditional coaching house, parish church and town hall and during the course of the year hosts events such as The Annual Pancake Race, Bonfire Night procession and Christmas Carols. Yarmouth Harbour is a magnet for sailors; it is the first Island harbour after navigating the Needles Channel and entering The Solent, during the summer months a variety of craft from many countries visit and there is an annual gathering of Old Gaffers’ yachts - 2024 dates tbc.
