Glebe Cottage is owned by Dave and Julie. We have both been holidaying in Cornwall for many years and found ourselves visiting the Padstow and 7 Bays area time after time. We are drawn in by its relaxed atmosphere and superb range of restaurants and cafes. We just love to sit in Padstow Harbour and watch the world go by. Long walks around the stunning North Cornwall coast are one of our favourite things to do. The Harlyn to Trevone path is stunning, as is the circular path around Trevose Head. There are the most beautiful views in all of Cornwall, and you might even spot a pod of Dolphins or a Humpback whale if you are very lucky! We bought the Glebe Cottage in April 2019 as a very damp flat roofed leaking cottage. We had a vision to create a dream cottage by the sea - a home from home - which we would love to share with you. Dave is a keen golfer and spends much of his spare time playing a round. He can recommend local golf courses to you if that's your thing. Julie loves to walk the coastal path and can recommend routes to enjoy. She also loves to spend time body boarding, and she can let you know the best surfing beaches and surf schools. Please get in touch if there is anything we can help with. We want you to have the best holiday possible! We both look forward to inviting you to this very special place.
The Camel Estuary and its surrounding area truly stand out as one of Cornwall's coastal treasures. With its seven stunning bays, historic harbours, and verdant countryside, this region offers endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Padstow, with its charming artisan shops, galleries, and historic inns, serves as the perfect starting point for your adventure. Cycling enthusiasts will delight in the easy and traffic-free Camel Trail, which stretches along the estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge and back. Convenient cycle hire shops at either end make it simple to embark on this scenic journey. For families seeking fun-filled attractions, there's no shortage of options. The world-renowned Eden Project, the fascinating Newquay Blue Reef Aquarium, and the thrilling Camel Creek Adventure Park are just a few of the must-visit destinations in the area. However, perhaps the most renowned aspect of the Camel Estuary is its reputation as a foodie paradise. Renowned chefs like Rick Stein and his contemporaries have firmly placed Padstow on the culinary map, showcasing the best of Cornish produce and elevating it to new heights. From fine dining experiences to cosy local eateries, there's something to satisfy every palate. For an unforgettable culinary journey, be sure to try renowned establishments such as Rick Stein's, Paul Ainsworth at No. 6, The Old Millhouse, Treviskers Kitchen, The Ring O Bells in St. Issey, and the delightful Trevibban Mill Vineyard. These establishments offer a tantalizing glimpse into Cornwall's rich culinary heritage, where fresh ingredients and innovative cooking techniques combine to create unforgettable dining experiences. Whether you're a nature lover, a history enthusiast, or a devoted foodie, the Camel Estuary and its surroundings offer a wealth of experiences waiting to be discovered. Come and immerse yourself in the beauty, culture, and culinary delights of this enchanting corner of Cornwall.
