There are several pubs, a supermarket and a variety of other shops and takeaways all within a short walk from the property. You could visit Hartley’s Restaurant or purchase some artisan chocolates from The Chocolate Room, where you will also find a café. Dalton train station is less than a 10 minutes walk away, and from Tudor Square you can catch a bus to Barrow in Furness, Ulverston or even Kendal. Attractions nearby include South Lakes Safari Zoo (6 minute drive or 30 minute walk), and Furness Abbey (8 minute drive or 45 minute walk) – where you will find the remains of a 12th century Cistercian monastery. (Don’t visit too late at night though, or you may come across one of the three ghosts; The Squire’s Daughter, The Headless Monk or The Vanishing Monk!)
