Welcome to cherished family home, a 1920s Art Deco house located in a peaceful area near St Albans and Hatfield, with excellent transportation links into central London and a mere 10 mins drive to the M25 and M1. It has four spacious double bedrooms, a large garden with outdoor furniture and bbq and beautiful period features like the original fireplaces, iconic curved Crittle windows and charming wooden floors. It offers a blend of character and modern comfort. We offer free private parking for up to 3 cars and an electric charging point. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of crockery, wine glasses, large American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and even an old school large gas range cooker. The campus of the University of Hertfordshire and the Hatfield aerodrome heritage trail, which provides tranquil nature walks with lakes and deer in the woodland just across the road. The Galleria shopping centre with numerous outlet shops, restaurants and cinema is within walking distance. I'm excited to welcome guests who appreciate a relaxing stay in a unique and well-loved space.
Welcome to our home. This is where I spend part of the year with my husband and our lovely dog, Luna, while our two sons are away at university. I’m excited to share our home with guests who will enjoy the comfort, character and peaceful setting. A bit about me—I love movies, especially whodunit crime thrillers, and you’ll find the two TVs in the house are equipped with Netflix and Prime for cozy nights in. I enjoy travelling, cooking almost as much as eating, walks in Hatfield House wonderful garden and the airfield with Luna. Also tennis and swimming at the Sports Village just across the road. You might also bump into our friendly neighbours or spot Paula’s yoga classes in the house opposite. I hope you find relaxation and a warm welcome here, and if you’d like any local tips, I’m always happy to share.
We are located in a quiet residencial area. It is less than 5 minute walk to the University of Hertfordshire campus and the law library. Also the Hatfield aerodrome heritage trail, home to the WWII Mosquito fighter bomber, which now provides for lovely nature walks. Within 2 min drive from the house, there is also a lovely rustic rural pub for dining, Italian Kitchen and a large farmers shop where you can get fresh produce and they claim its simple best coffee in town. The historic centre of the city of St. Albans is magical, with plenty of pubs, including the oldest one in the country, eateries, upmarket quirky shops and coffee shops. The cathedral and the Verulanium park that surrounds it, is a must, especially over the Christmas and Easter periods. There is a lively street market twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with food trucks and interesting offerings. Harry Potters world is in Watford about 25 mins drive. From St Albans' train station you can get into Central London, St Pancras International, in about 20 mins.
