Neighbourhood information

South Creake is an extremely popular coastal village, tucked into the valley of the little river Burn with a village green beside the river, which flows into Burnham Overy Town and Burnham Overy Staithe. The village is scattered with Norfolk's typical brick and flint cottages and the perfect spot to put on your wellies and head out for a long walk, before a visit to the traditional Ostrich Inn, which is the hub of the village and just a few steps away. Creake Abbey, just a five minute drive away, holds an excellent farmer's market the first Saturday of each month, with over 50 stalls offering fresh local produce, a popular cafe and delicatessen, an excellent hairdressers, gallery, antiques and a number of inviting shops. The large mediaeval church of Our Lady St Mary, loved by Sir John Betjeman among others, is a sign of the earlier wealth and size of the village. The church was largely re-built in the 15th century and features a stunning angel roof restored in the 1950’s.
