The Lake District Foundation uses the donations to gives grants to effective projects that help to care for the landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Lake District and Cumbria, and keep it special. Recent Projects include: Red Squirrel Conservation, Fix the Fells Reconnecting the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Path
