Cork Tree Cottage is a spacious, comfortable and cosy natural stone bungalow. Located on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park, within the beautiful Colehayes Park estate, and named after the rare Cork Oak tree in the garden. A great base to explore the local area and relax in the striking natural surroundings. The perfect rural setting for your Devonshire holiday with family & friends! Please note that we only accept a minimum of 3 night bookings. Over new year & Christmas we only accept a minimum of 5 nights. Any enquiries will not be accepted if they are below the minimum nights, thank you for your understanding.
Rebecca lives and works on the Colehayes Park estate, close to the cottage. So there will always be someone to check you in and show you around. After that, you can enjoy your stay in peace and privacy! We have rented Cork Tree Cottage as a holiday home for many years and have many happy repeat visitors. We'll send more details about the cottage when you book and are happy to answer any questions you may have before you arrive.
Our neighbourhood is on the eastern edge of beautiful Dartmoor National Park, with it's numerous hiking and biking trails, vast rugged moorlands, forests and waterfalls. Nearby you have impressive views from Haytor Rock. You can visit picturesque villages such as Lustleigh and Widecombe on the Moor, with their stone churches, whitewashed thatched cottages and rustic country pubs. You can visit the Buckfast Otter Sanctuary and Dartmoor Miniature Pony Centre, or take a ride on the South Devon Steam Railway. The nearest village for local shops, pubs and cafes, is Bovey Tracey. The nearest city is Exeter, which dates back to the Roman era and has an impressive cathedral as well as a wide range of restaurants, shops and entertainment options. You'll need a car to get around Dartmoor. There is enough space for 4 cars next to the cottage. If any of your guests plan to arrive by train, the nearest station is Newton Abbot, which is a 20 minute drive away.
