Free parking for several cars. Good free internet/wifi and a private study for working online. Laura is English and her domestic partner, Patrice is French. Laura teaches various creative arts; Patrice is a language and cultural-awareness lecturer/guru. Their choice of decor reflects an appreciation for traditional country cottage design. They are anti-waste and passionate about sustainability, recycling/upcycling, re-furbishing and re-purposing items. They prefer second hand, pre-loved, shabby chic pieces of furniture plus vintage and antique objects/collectables. You may see some items that are not shiny, new, modern, or perfect – but have been (or are in the process of being) rescued and restored. They'll always be available on the phone or via text/email for assistance and can email you extensive guest information before your stay. They are dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The Captain's Cottage is set in a quiet close of 6 x vintage cottages surrounded by countryside and a short walk to Climping beach at the old settlement of Atherington in Climping. Two lovely, traditional looking, local gastro pubs are only a 5 min walk away. You'll see old flint buildings and historic listed houses. It is a lovely sandy beach for swimming if you venture to the east of the old wooden groins. A huge cultural and historical highlight is Arundel and it's castle - just 4 miles away or a lovely walk along the Arun River. Medieval Festivals, antique shops and live jazz music on Sundays in the square... Goodwood with it's famous estate is just 20 mins away: horse racing, motor racing, golf, vintage events, hotel/spa, etc... Chichester and its famous theatre just a short 20 mins journey away. Fabulous shops, cafes, restaurants, museums with stunning historical buildings. Worthing (21 mins by car) & Brighton (52 mins by car) - nearby, just along the coast. The small seaside resort of Littlehampton is a long walk or 2 miles away by car/taxi. Spend the day on the beach and eating at its lovely beach-side cafes.
