A unique and very comfortable Grade II listed Manor House in Chillingham North Northumberland close to Chatton, Wooler and Alnwick. Newly refurbished in 2020. The house is relaxed, very comfortable and welcoming. A beautiful place to spend time no matter the season. Delicious Northumbrian breakfasts (Definitely NOT Irish -booking . com why did you put that!?) are served in the large sociable dining room. There is a fridge in the dining room for guests use and there are also wine glasses, champagne flutes bottle openers, corkscrews and ice. The bedrooms are all individually styled with lovely fabrics and antique and modern furniture but all have a classic/contemporary feel. All bedrooms have Nespresso machines and we supply Coffee & Kin coffee pods which are ethical and compostable. There is also a kettle and a selection of teas and infusions. Marlish spring water is also supplied. The bathrooms are spacious and stocked with The White Company Toiletries, white bath towels and generous bath sheets. Robes are available by request. The elegant drawing room has big comfy sofas and a wood burning stove or if you prefer the smaller morning room has a log burning stove, large sofa, arm chairs and lots of books and a TV. The 3 reception rooms all have amazing floor to ceiling windows. There is a football table in the hallway if you are feeling competitive! This is a fun and very relaxing place to be. You can take all 3 rooms and have the guest part of the house to yourselves. Chillingham Castle and the famous Wild Cattle of Chillingham are opposite the house. (Guided tours to see the rare animals - there are only 130 in the world). Fishing on the River Tweed and Till can be arranged.

Mhairi has worked in hospitality for most of her life. Working in hotels and chalets in France, Shooting Lodges in the Highlands of Scotland, Safari Lodges in Africa and on Luxury Yachts in the Med. When the opportunity of taking over Chillingham Manor arose she jumped at it. The pandemic has made the start more than a little bit tricky but we assure you that you will feel safe and looked after here at Chillingham. It is a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place to spend quality time. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious and where possible the ingredients are locally sourced.

Almost every town and village has a Castle - Chillingham Castle is opposite and was built in the 14th Century. We also have the incredibly ancient "Wild Chillingham Cattle" in the castle park - There are only 130 in the world. The beautiful 12th C Church of St Peters is next door. Chillingham is perfectly situated. The beaches are 20minutes away - Bamburgh and its castle. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are also just 20 minutes drive. The Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland National Park are just 15 minutes drive. There is a pub and a village shop just 1 mile away.
