This top floor, 3 storey building, refurbished in 2023, 2 bedroom flat, has a modern open plan lounge/kitchen with a large central dining island. The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need for your stay: Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Saucepans, Crockery and Cutlery. One bedroom has a king-sized double bed, and the second, a single bed. Please note: there is no lift at the property and the apartment is on the second floor. Typical booking in time is between 5pm & 8pm - we will try to accommodate outside of these times, but we are set up as a Serviced Apartment, not an hotel. There is no reception nor luggage storage available. CAR PARKING There is ONE, off-street, designated private parking, for a car, which must be reserved in advance (parking permit to be displayed and returned at the end of your stay - there is a charge if the permit is not left behind at the end of your stay!). If you have second vehicle, then Lemsford Road doesn't require permit parking, but spaces are occupied at certain times of the day. ST ALBANS CITY STATION (just 8 minutes walk) has a public car park if you require additional parking. The Station offers direct links to St Pancras in 20 minutes (fast trains) to 45 minutes (semi-fast trains), Luton Airport Parkway Station (15 minutes) with the new DART link taking you from the station to the airport in under 7 minutes, and Gatwick Airport (75 minutes). N.B. The train line runs at the back of the property and is in a cutting. With double glazed windows closed noise is negligible but with open windows you will hear the trains, services reduce after midnight but trains continue to run through the night. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION There is no lift at the property. No dishwasher The apartment is on the 2nd floor. There is WiFi/ Broadband. There is a Freeview TV. The full address is 6 Buckingham Court, Lemsford Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 3HP. We are situated between 30 and 32 Lemsford Road, opposite Manor Road. We are a short walk from St Albans City Station, with fast links in to London. The property backs on to the train line so with open windows, there is noise of the trains throughout the night, services reduce after 23:00 but trains do run. The apartment block comprises of three storeys. Flat 6 is on the top floor - please note there is no lift or elevator. Refurbished fully in January 2023, we have been delighted to receive numerous guests since opening for business early that month. Some staying for two weeks, some for just one night, a number of repeat bookings and promise from others to return. We have been delighted to meet and welcome guests from different parts of the UK, Dubai, US, Hong Kong, Australia and Slovakia. Now in to our second year of operations, we have been delighted to receive numerous positive write-ups and compliments from the various guests staying in St Albans.
SOME THINGS TO SEE AND DO 6 Buckingham Court is just a 10 minutes walk from the centre of this historic Cathedral City which boasts the 15th Century Clock Tower, the 11th Century Abbey, Verulamium Park with it's Roman remains (the Hypocaust, Mosaics, remains of the City Wall) dating back to 350 AD. Two museums, one through the park with the main exhibits based around Roman Life in Roman Verulamium, and one in the City Centre in the old Town Hall. St Albans also offers a host of interesting pubs dating back to medieval times, extensive dining and shopping opportunities. Two of our favourites, are Ye Olde Fighting Cocks - at the bottom of the hill from the Abbey and leading in to Verulam Park, and The Old Red Lion, a short walk from the Abbey. AND NEARBY There are many activities in the surrounding areas including the Warner Bros Studio Tour - Harry Potter, Hatfield House, Luton Hoo Estate & Spa, Willows Activity Farm, Hitchin Lavender, Heartwood Forest and, of course, the attractions of Central London just a short train ride away. A short ten minute walk to the city centre and about 8 minutes to St Albans Station. Immediately behind the flat, across the railway line (please note the trains run through the night), is Clarence Park home to St Albans Football Club, (flood lights during the football season typically Tuesdays and Saturdays) the Cricket Club, Bowls and Croquet.
